Ok. So let me clarify for those who had trouble understanding last week the premise of predicting games. When I pick a game, I have no way of knowing who is going to win it. It's a guess. I like to think it's an educated guess, but it's still a guess. I had people claiming that I apparently didn't know how to count and that I was wrong with my number of Right vs. Wrong stats. Understand that the stats that I'm about to list are from LAST WEEK'S PICKS. If I had any future knowledge of how the upcoming games were going to turn out, I'd have a perfect record. So with that said, let's move on...

LAST WEEK I went 4 & 3, taking my yearly results to 37 of 52 (that DOESN'T include this week). Wow. North Carolina over Miami. Guess you had to be a hopeful Tarheel to pick that one. I wasn't. Strike one. Maryland and GT was a close one, but Maryland edged out the Jackets. Strike two. Clemson has fallen into their trend of losing after an impressive start to the season. Strike three. One a brighter note, Boston College continued their winning ways and entered the Top 5 this week thanks to Wisconsin and USC. Florida State seems to finally be improving thanks to moving Weatherford out and Lee in. Virginia still leads the Coastal division with 3 conference wins, but VT looks like they're back on the rise. What can we expect this week?

FSU @ Wake Forest = FSU. Xavier Lee passed for over 250 yards with no interceptions last week. The Noles are seeking revenge after last year's 30-0 home loss to the Deacons.

South Carolina @ North Carolina = South Carolina. You'll never see me bet against Steve Spurrier. I might wish against him...but I won't be betting.

VT @ Duke = Virginia Tech

Georgia Tech @ Miami = Miami. The Orange Bowl is still an intimidating place to play on the road. Both teams are coming off losses last week, but the U has home field advantage.

Connecticut @ Virginia = UConn. Virginia has the 109th ranked offense in the nation, and the Huskies offer the #5 defense in the nation.

Boston College @ ND = Boston College. Charlie Weiss and crew might be able to upset the Bruins in LA, but when the Eagles leave South Bend it won't be following an upset win by the Irish.

So there you have it. That's what I think. What about you?

i trust your counting skills great seminole war chief!

here are my assesments:

FSU @ Wake=FSU....payback time****

South Carolina @ UNC = South Carolina.....this team has to be a sleeper to win the SEC East at this point. Doubt they are gonna go down to an ACC bottom feeder

VT @ Duke= VT........im astonished that you had no explanation of how VT goes in to play the dreaded blue devils and comes out with a win! hahaha

GT @ Miami= Miami.....this game could go either way but i have to comment on you saying the orange bowl is still an intimidating place to play on the road. Ive never heard anybody make that claim. The place only sells out for 2 games (FSU or VT), and that is when Miami is good. The place may be rocking for those games, but it is not a very intimidating place to play normally (IMO).

UCONN @ UVA= UVA (for the sake of changing your picks)

BC @ ND = BC....No brainer!

as far as last week i didnt get my picks in in time, but i would have picked UNC and UM for sure. UNC had all the makings for the upset there. anyways

GOOO NOLES!

Ha! Those comments in the blog are great!!

DC...
It's not neccesarily that the OB is intimidating in the sense of the fans...but that place has so much history that it's more the mystique of playing there. Not many teams walk away with wins.

Yeah...you got your UNC pick in before the game (I think you did anyhow) so we'll count that. I wouldn't have picked it though. I was shocked. I just thought Miami was better than that.

"great seminole war chief"

Ha!

Wow...tough crowd. They were non-seminoles fans so whatever they say doesn't count anyways...lol. Its tough to pick against the Canes in the Mystical Orange Bowl...but Tech really needs a win. Tough to call. The Game of the week in the ACC methinks. Am I the only one who doesn't think that either UConn or Virginia is for real ??? My gut is telling me that the Cavs end UConn's undefeated streak. You know I know the WF game is all about payback...but to be honest with you I'd just settle for a win. GO NOLES !!!

4th&1...
I'm with you in thinking that neither Virginia or UConn are the real deal...but I think of the 2, UConn is the better team. We'll see how far that gets me though. ;)

it was 10-0 when i made the unc pick, but i SWEAR i woulda picked em prior. i thought miami was better than that as well after seeing them whip A&M. i was just thinking the whole butch davis thing and the fact that UNC seems to destroy one good team a year (like they have done to FSU and Miami before).

i understand what you are saying about the orange bowl. my brother and dad were at the doug flutie miracle game. i just think it has lost its mystique. in the past few years quite a few teams have won there.

oh well, we shall see.
