Oddly, it seems that the further the season goes along, and the more I should've learned from each team...my picks keep getting further and further from the truth. Last week I went an even 3 & 3 after Miami lost at home to GT, FSU lost on the road to Wake, and Virginia took their winning streak to 6 games with a win over UConn. That takes my record to 40 of 58 on the year, or 69%.

This weekend provides it's own obstacles...with Virginia visiting Maryland, Wake going to Navy, and Miami coming to Tallahassee. Let's see how I do.

Army @ Georgia Tech = GT

Central Michigan @ Clemson = Clemson. Tommy Bowden has entered his normal bucket of hot water at mid-season. He's never failed to pull out a win when he needs one in the past, and I expect no different this week, especially considering he's facing a Central Michigan team whos 4 wins have come against teams that have a combined win ratio of just under 36%.

Wake Forest @ Navy = Wake Forest. Should be a good game, and presents itself as the ACC's most probable upset possibility of the week with a win by Navy.

Miami @ FSU = FSU. It's not the game of the year this year, but the fans of these 2 teams don't know that. Regardless of the record or the ranks...this one always proves to be a good fight.

NC State @ East Carolina = ECU

Virginia @ Maryland = Maryland. This one could go either way. When compared on paper, both teams look to be about equal. I'm calling a win for the Terrapins due to an extra week of practice thanks to coming off an off week.

So there you have it. That's what I think. How about you?

I'll take Army, Central Michigan, Navy, Miami, NC State, and UVA!

You said Miami.

Traitor! Ha!

If you check the NYSE, we actually own Miami. :)

The betting site I visit has us as 6 point favorites, though they had Miami with a 3 point advantage earlier in the week.

GO NOLES!!! Scalp 'em!

October 19, 2007  12:08 PM ET

that had to be a mistake....no way they could have miami favored in this game

October 19, 2007  12:30 PM ET

Idk...but they were giving FSU 3 points earlier this week. Now they're giving Miami 6 points.

What are your thoughts on the Maryland/Virginia game?

October 19, 2007  12:33 PM ET

I think Maryland takes it. UVA hasn't really played anybody and MD has really stepped up their game lately. It's anybody's guess though.

Next week is the kicker. BC vs Va Tech. ACC championship preview? Probably. I don't see BC beating them twice to run the table. They haven't been tested that much thus far.

I'm pissed that USF lost. I wanted to see them run the table. I guess that wouldn't be good for our recruiting though

BC @ VT should be good...but I'll go ahead and call a win by VT. Like you said, BC hasn't played anyone yet, other than WF.

I don't really think USF running the table would've hurt our recruiting. Bobby can hold his own. And I was cheering like a madman last night for USF. Groethe is a badass! I can't wait to see him next year.

Those look good to me. I was really impressed with East Carolina when they played VT. Their record is not indicitive of the talent on that team. I also like Maryland at home to smash Cinderella's slippers. I'll leave you with this thought on the "Battle for the Sunshine State"...The loser of this game...isn't going bowling this year !!! Despite their loss to Rutgers last night...its obvious that the "Big 3" need to move over...USF is at the table. GO NOLES !!!

it would no doubt hurt our recruiting. if bowden can hold his own why are we already starting scrubs that wouldn't start for FIU?
