I think Fedor will run into problems. I am betting on him to win but I wouldn't be surprised, at all, if Bigfoot pulls the upset.
Even though Bigfoot has BJJ I still think the best scenario for Fedor is to get a takedown and get on top of Silva.
Bigfoots size and reach could pose as problems for Fedor. And he is a bit of a scrapy ground fighter for his size. But all and all if Fedor gets him to the ground he'll finish him there most likely.
Bigfoot is very slow and very heavy footed. Fedor should be able to take him apart standing. As long as he avoids Bigfoot's big body laying on top of him he will be just fine. I am shocked and excited that this heavyweight tournament is actually occurring!
QUOTE(#4):
Fedor will win this. I don't the fight will be that close really. Unless Fedor has just completely aged overnight.
I kinda agree but somthing in the back of my head says Bigfoot will be ready.
As far as aging he really hasn't showed any signs of aging. Werdum just flat out caught him in a submission.

I agree Fedor should win this, Silva shouldn???t be a threat to him. He is big and slow, he will get caught and lights out.
QUOTE(#8):
If Bigfoot gets rocked like he did against Mike Kyle, Fedor will finsih him quickly.
Put it this way, I would be very surprised if he lost. He is a top fighter just not elite anymore. I do like Fedor just not the hype.

then tell me, why don't you waste a single opportunity to say how he is not the same?
You can't really let it pass, right? because god save you, you do not want anyone to think you Think fedor is a great fighter!
I think he CAN pull the upset. and it wouldn't be so upsetting.
he might be slow, but he is big (reach advantage) and strong (KO power and vicious G'np).
If he catches anyone unprepared, he drops them. if it is not KO, once he gets on top, it is very hard to get him off you.
HOWEVER, I agree that Fedor should be not only ready, but he will be very hungry to prove his only defeat is an isolated phenomena that happens only once every 10 years :)

Agree 100%.
Would love to see how Fedor is training. Not the videos they are showing us, but actual training & sparring sessions.

you could see them... but then a spetnatz would find you.... and erase that from your memory! :)

Yes they sure can! I still remember when they did it to me.
I think this matchup favors Fedor in every possible way.
I myself, see it ending with an armbar. That would be very impressive to me.

I also think so, but let's give due where it deserves. Pezao is NOT a pushover on the ground. if anything, I think it would be very odd if Fedor would have in his gameplan to submit pezao...
maybe TKO or GnP, but submit? it would be the same as if his gameplan was to submit Werdum...

I agree. I think the most plausable finish will involve Big Foot sitting against the fence trying to cover up. While Fedor emotionlessly throws punchs.
But, I still think an armbar would be a way for Fedor show the world he can win anyway he chooses.
I say Fedor wins this one, but it won't be easy. Big Foot has a strong chin and has fought some good opponents in his career so he has the experience and is solid on the ground as well. Plus has the size to go along with it. But I say Fedor is better on the ground and hits like he has bricks for hands.
