You give way to the seniors if they are showing the progress during practice.

Now that they are returning I would like some thoughts about what is Tressel going to do if the 5 game suspesions hold up and the replacements are firmly entrenched in their respected positions.Do you give way to the seniors or do you keep playing the guys who started the season?

The only guy in danger of losing his job upon returning would be Boom Herron. Too much good depth behind him. Pryor, Posey and Adams are too talented not to play, and even their reserves with five games experience probably won't match it. Thomas probably wasn't a starter anyway, so I don't know if he's really losing that much playing time.

I don't see any way Miller starts over Pryor. None. If Tressell honestly thought Miller was a better option, I think he would have encouraged TP to go pro. Even if they guy gets off to a Denard Robinson style start.

Three BCS games and 2 straight wins while they have spent the last 3 years investing in TP... Pryor starts week 6 unless he breaks a leg.

Any chance we see the occasional platoon? That way you can run the ball with a QB without worrying as much about injury?

It's another year of practicing and development he gets. The season is shortened, but the more prep the better.

Also, Pryor will get to start a guaranteed 7 games, an almost guaranteed bowl game, and possibly the conference title game. 9 more starts is nothing to turn one's nose at.

Play the best player at each position. Period.

But if they are essentially "even", THEN I could see a coach going with the younger player (assuming they have more years of eligibility left), as the experience they gain will stay on the roster past the end of this season.

Best call for the program.

True. As good as Miller may be in the future, starting him out for 5 games then pulling him out of actions for the last 9 would be counter productive. It will be TP's team.

Will they be able to participate in August and practice during their suspension? I'm assuming so which means they'll probably return to their roles pretty quickly. Except for the Miami game, it could turn out to be a real plus as far as depth goes.

Why is everyone jumping Kenny Guiton for Braxton Miller? I know the kid has skills and will probably get some field time, but Guiton showed promise in the little bit of playing time he had this year...

... and I can't imagine Tressel not starting the guys once they've done their time. It would be really out of character for him.

I think he was referring to giving the seniors the starting jobs upon the end of their suspension, provided they look good in practice.
