Ok we went over Fedor vs Bigfoot, so now lets look at the other big fight taking place that night.

I think this fight will come down to who has the better chin. And that means Kharitonov.

Is it me or do you guys think Arlovski was fighting scared against bigfoot? I can't see Kharitonov fighting scared. I don't think he's scared of anyone.

Kharitonov is a very talented fighter but he sometimes feeds himself right into his opponents strengths.

I don't see this fight ending up on the ground or at least not for a long period of time. I see a good stand-up battle but Arlovski will be put to sleep once again.

Thats just a couple of tidbits from me about the fight. Now lets hear from you guys.

Thoughts?

Sergei all the way.

Kharitonov might be slow, but he is a better boxer than Bigfoot and has far more power. He is a better pure than the likes of Fedor, Sylvia and Bret Rogers.

The problem with AA isn't necessarily his chin, at least not exclusively. The bigger problem is how hittable he is and how poor his offensive striking is. He may have some fast hands and big offense, but I don't see him putting away Kharitonov before Kharitonov either lands a big KO punch or a slew of damage that takes AA out of the fight.

I believe that Sergie is the better fighter but he sure scares me sometimes with bad decisions.
Lets hope he doesn't make any against Andre.

I meant to say that AA has poor defensive striking.

td did you decide if you were gonna go?

January 25, 2011  11:27 AM ET

I decided against it. I've been sick the last month (2 days before Christmas) and see no end in sight. It started out as a cold then it shifted to bronchitis, and now for the last 2 weeks i've had pneumonia. So hopefully I'll be enjoying the event from the comfort of my couch with my dog on one side and the lady friend on ther other.

I really really thought about it but being this sick has dampened my spirits to do anything exciting lately

while I agree with C, I don't think AA will be as tentative as he was against Silva.
let's not forget that he was coming off a semi-retirement and 2 crushing KO's.
So yes he was tentative, but if anything, his loss to Silva in a standup fight should have given him confidence back that he could (at least) stand with a big fighter and not get KTFO in the first round....

TD, hope you feel better, bro!

Thanks Brosef. Atleast I'm not to sick to add my 2 cents to the Fannation world every now and again.
