NFL  > General NFL  > Cutler has torn MCL
January 24, 2011, 12:09 PM
For all you nay sayers that say Jay Cutler quit, I have had a torn MCL, depending on the severityof the tear...you can stand but have no mobility, or power.

All NFL players who tweeted trash about this are yellow belly, whale scum, egg sucking dogs. I hope each one of you tears a MCL, and your career is over.

You never talk trash about a player who is hurt.

Classless players

Too many people jump to conclusions before they learn the facts. I hope Cutler has a speedy recovery.

That is why Tweeting is bad for sports. You don't mess around with an MCL injury. Retired players should know better than to encourage a current player putting their career on the line for one game, even if it is the NFC Championship.

His facial expressions did not do him any favors, had he shown a little pain (over being hurt or not being able to continue to play) that would have helped his cause. Instead he acted like it was no big deal.

Now he has to deal with this for the rest of his career, Bear fans deserve better than this guy.

I do agree Mongo. His motivation and personality have been under fire even before this. He does need to start showing some gusto.

I would like to thank God oh and by the way, Cutler has no heart and I am a saint, so I know this to be true. Deon should really just disappear. As far as the MCL, I tore mine when I was in my 20s, there's no running with that, let alone stepping back, steppin back is where it hurts the most.Hope he recovers for next year. I think people were so ready to hate Cutler, they jumped to the first opportunity to call him out.

Agreed. And Sanders? That meow meow ran from contact every chance he got. Who the hell is he to talk about anybody being tough?

Putting his legitimate injury aside, he should have at least been offering his replacements encouragement and advice. Maybe cheering his teamates on would have been visually acceptable to the viewers.

Actually Cutlers knee was unstable from the MCL tear, the team doctors made the decision to sit Jay, he tried to go for one series and the doctors then made the call to sit him.

Cutler was seen smiling after the series where Hanie threw the TD pass to Bennett, Hanie and Cutler also was seen going over the playbook and Cutler for most did have a somber look who wouldn't in that scenario, what's he supposed to do jump up and cheer?

I really don't get all the negativity, the guy suffered possibly 2 concussions in the Giants game, was sacked 57 times during the season, did a flying somersault into the endzone "last year" deals with type one diabetes and yet still gets questioned on his toughness because of facial expressions or body language. Would I love to play poker with some of these type of people.

Sorry G.... we all deal with our issues everyday, I just don't think he showed the old team spirit.True though...different people show their emotions different ways. I guess I am used to the out spoken types, whom play the hand's they're dealt, and still show the spirit of a warrior!

Nah I'm the one Sorry for those who judge someone do to their looks or body language or demeanor for they will never actually take the time to get to know what a person is truly like for they already have their minds made up.

I used to league bowl several years ago, a gentleman that worked for the city was caretaker of the cemetery was a pretty respected member of the community was a long time bowler on a team I joined. Back then I had fairly long below my shoulder length hair, after a couple weeks of bowling on this team the well respected guy who ran the cemetery apologized to me. I asked him what for and he said he urged the other guys on the team not to allow me on the team because I was a long haired hippie and he didn't like the way I looked or the way I carried myself, "whatever that means." He then said after getting to know me his initial judgment of me was way off base and he was wrong and glad to know me and have me on their team. We won league champions that year. I was reminded of the phrase "don't judge a book by it's cover."

The media has a knack for throwing people under the bus. Its more than possible that the camera shots were strategically selected to when he was looking as if he didn't care. Either way, by what I saw, it wasn't a huge story like they made it out to be, but he did seem a little out of it. But who of us really knows what was going through his head. All of that said, I am sorry your Bears lost yesterday and I am also sorry you have to take the offseson Cutler hating another year.

Thanks C.L. it's appreciated and yea some fans "even Bear fans" are the cruelest kind. I think Chicago media as well as national media have their goats and love to pile on and it's a shame.
