NFL  > Pittsburgh Steelers  > Big Ben

We in Pittsburgh are proud that Ben is our quarterback - with a very rough start to the season our beloved Steelers made it to the pot of gold - way to go. As for Mr Goodell - what a fool he has made of himself. I hope that now the godlike status that he hold himself to is as tarnished as he has tried to make Ben's reputation. I believe that owners, headed by Dan Rooney (Deja vu), should form a commission to kick his butt out. Would serve him right. Anyways - see the team at our victory party in a few weeks in the Burgh !!! Good Luck!

If you are proud of Ben R. as a player, fine. Don't forget his careless motorcycle adventure that cost him playing time, did you encourage your kids to drive a motorcycle without a helmet?. Ben wants to be a role model yet he cavorts in bars that serve underage girls, Ben bought drinks for these girl thus corrupting a minor. Of all the athletes in all the sports why is it he has had 2 rape/assault charges against him? This idiot just doesn't get it that in order for you to be a role model you must act like one. Why fans come to the defense of players when they get in trouble is still a mystery to me.

@EGent- Sounds like you have gotten a little to caught up in the political revolutions around the world in your call for Rooney and other owners to replace Goodell as commissioner.

He wasnt corrupting a minor she was twenty and the bar was serving her liquor and so was the other two bars that she followed him to. Im not saying what he did was right but she was no angel either. How many people who scream about Big Ben have ever had a sexual encounter while you or your partner were drinking. If your partner was drinking guess what legaly they are unable to give consent. As far as Big Ben being the only guy accused of sexual assault is just wrong. Look at the list of NFL arrests there are a ton of sexual assaults. Mark Sanchez himself was arrested (Big Ben was not) for sexual assault at USC we dont hear about that story. I have three kids and I teach them that people who throw balls are not role models.

No I dont approve at all He was an A-- and she was a **** they were both wrong. A minor is someone under the age of 18 she was 20 he was 26

I like Big Ben. I agree bak2530, she was not a minor for sex, just alcohol. People misquote crap and it pisses me off.

Yah I think rape is terrible and un excusable and Ben shouldn't put himself in those situations. But what kind of girl even goes into a mens bathroom in the firstplace? Why wasn't he charged? If she was paid off then she wasn't that upset about it to begin with. The police even said we don't prosicute morals. Roger Goodell needs a piece and thinks he is god.

It was Ben's birthday so he just turned 27 or 28.

Have you read anything??? She was 20 and he was 26, my parents have a bigger gap (7 years age difference) than they did. Learn the facts before you spew unintelligible crap like that.

If Ben wins his 3rd title all will be forgotten. By the way anyone heard of the Favre saga? My point exactly. In due time everything gets forgotten and a third Super Bowl Championship is Bens' charm. He's still an idiot for putting himself in those positions. Time to settle down or you will never improve your image.

I think it would be a dead issue if he wasn't playing in the Superbowl (ie. Favre). I think the fact that he said he wants to be a role model, shows he needs to change and grow up so to speak. Can't fault a guy for wanting to be a better person.

As for blaming Goodell, don't forget the Rooney's were going to punish Ben if the league didn't. Ben could have been gone if Goodell didn't take action. So, be careful where you point the blame. That suspension could have been the best thing to happen to the Steelers. They always do better when the odds are stacked against them and they have a chip on their shoulder. Go Steelers!!

I'm proud of them too. They have overcome some pretty big odds this year.
