Golf  > General Golf  > A major comeback for Tiger Woods!?

Will we ever see Tiger Woods play like he's a man among boys again? Is age setting in or is he just making some adjustments for a major comeback?

I'll take Bill Murray over Tiger Woods any day.

Tiger is done, stick a fork in him.

Let me interject some sanity to this Tiger debate. 2009 Tiger came off injury had a good year came up short in the PGA, no majors that year but to be expected because he didn't play golf for 6 months. 2010 was a shot year because of the drama with Elin. 2011 was a shot year due to another injury. 2012 was a year Tiger had to change swing get some things together.

So 2013 was the year I earmarked for Tiger to break through. He hasn't yet. I admit I'm disappointed but my belief in this guy is unwavering. Again this is a guy that has won 26% of all the golf tournaments he's entered, 20% in the majors.

Remember back in 2004 all the naysayers talking about how Tiger was done? It's all happening again. Does anybody want to challenge this assertion that Tiger will be the greatest golfer in his 40s. We have guys like Freddie Couples who are playing well in their 50s Tom Watson almost pulled off an Open at 59. It's not as if Tiger is a guy like Ken Duke sporting a gut in his 40s. Tiger is a physical specimen and will be relevant for a long time barring a debilitating injury.

I was concerened after he won at Torrey that Tiger would become disinterested with the game by the time he turned 40 because I felt he would break Jack's record easily by age 35 but we all know what happened. We now have a Tiger Woods who at no point in his career is he ever more motivated to win so he can shut people up.

So here's my prediction and my prediction is based on the supreme belief in this guy's talent and will. Tiger's going to go on a run. He has 9 tournaments left in his 30's. I believe he's going to win 4 of the next 9. He's won 2 majors in a calendar year 5 times. I believe by next year everything will be in place with his game and personal life. We've seen signs this year with the 4 victories. Now into his 40's. If he plays all of them that's 40 majors. I believe he will win 8 in his 40s. Vijay Singh won 3 in his 40s and I believe Tiger will be a much better golfer than Vijay in his 40s. And he will win 2 in his 50s. That's 28 majors folks.

Put it down and stamp it. This talk about Tiger right now baffles me it really does. People need to keep perspective and remember who we're talking about. The guy is that good. And again he's more motivated to win than ever. Tiger never winning another major??? Does anybody truly believe that?? Crazy talk. Think about what your saying here and reassess again who we're talking about.

Thank you Mark Steinberg.

Mark Steinberg, no. A guy making a crazy prediction maybe. But go to my points. I believe I have made a very credible case here. The injuries and the drama with his ex wife created a huge digression in his golf career. Again I heard all this crap back in 2004. I'm going out on a huge limb but again who wins 4 tournaments out of the first 6 of a season. Nobody but Tiger Woods, yet people dismiss this like he's completely lost it. Baffling.

July 22, 2013  03:04 PM ET

And one last thing. I'm listening to all the radio programs this morning and everybody believes Tiger is going to be like every other 40 year old who has played this game. Will his game digress with age? Yes I'm sure it will, but remember from where it will digress from. He's still #1 in the world, and will be I believe for many years to come. I think Tiger sits around and listens to all the naysayers and thinks to himself, "I can't wait to shut these ####### up"

You are delusional if you think Tiger is going to win 4 out of the next 9 majors. The man is more interested in chasing bimbos than he is in golf.

Face it, Tiger is toast.

Yes.

I'm no apologist for Tiger, but he was doing pretty well WHILE he was chasing those women. I think he NEEDS to chase women to do well.
