I imagine seeing Aaron Rodgers holding the Lomabardi trophy got Brett thinking about 2011. We'll see. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Brett back with the Vikings in 2011, but I don't think it's very likely.

They can say this and that about a lockout, but both sides love money way too much to actually go through with it. No lockout.

It's just posturing. They're trying to make the other side believe that they won't budge. But when you actually imagine a 2011 lockout, it changes the entire league, and not for the better. There is no upside to a lockout, especially when the end result will be a hurried agreement to resume football in2012. They will find a resolution, and the league will continue, most likely at the last minute.

You'll never win a Super Bowl with a 42 year old QB. The Vikings should have pursued a young QB instead of signing the geriatric prima donna.

Concur!!

That "geriatric prima donna" can still win some games in this league, especially with a healthy wide receiving unit at the start of the season. This league proves time and time again that last year doesn't mean next year. He provides a better chance of winning than most of the available talent.

True Vikings fans are going to hate this...

Kevin Kolb is going nowhere. He'll be an Eagle for at least another year. On the other hand, I expect the Vikes to draft someone like Jake Locker and then trade for Donovan McNabb to be their caretaker starter.

Put Brett Favre in a Trent Dilfer situation and I'd like his odds at winning the Super Bowl, even at 42 years of age.

Sadly, I'd have to agree with Carson Palmer's reaction.

There is no defendable rationale to support retaining Marvin Lewis for yet another season.

I got the impression that even Marvin Lewis wanted out of Cincinnati. Lewis is a problem but the Bengals biggest problem(s) are above his pay grade...

Locker went back to school *last* year. He's graduating this year. Thing is, Locker is a good prospect but he probably isn't good enough to start right away. So he won't go that high in the draft. He could fall to around Minnesota's level, and they could have him pull an Aaron Rodgers and sit a year or three behind an experienced QB. I picked McNabb but it could just as easily be Matt Hasselbeck or Marc Bulger.
