NBA  > General NBA  > Recap of Heat @ Celtics Round 3
February 14, 2011, 11:43 AM
The Celtics showed that despite their age they can still be competative and fight all the wat to the end. The C's were down 4 at half time and fought back to gain the lead scoring 35 points in the 3rd quarter. However, this game seemed to find itself having another nail biting finish with the C's nearly blowing their 13 point 3rd quarter lead. The road to the playoffs should be good with these two teams exchanging blows for the lead in the Easter Conference and in turn should make for a good post season series, (assuming they meet).

Yes....was a great game, regardless of the fact that my Heat lost...

I really hope that these 2 meet again in the East Finals...as fans, that would make great NBA Theater for sure...

Your Celts are the measuring stick for sure and Miami seems to be closing the gap...if they get over the hump or not is a different story.

I can tell you that Miami needs a legit PG badly...Mario Chalmers is a crutch against Rondo and candidly, Rondo I think is the difference in all of these games going forward.

If Miami can figure him out, then they will win...

and the Celtics were not a healthy team for this game

Miami needs to improve their front line. Just not enough size and maybe won't have enough money to do it either. This just insures that they won't be able to beat either the Bulls or Celtics in the playoffs though so I shouldn't complain huh?

Dude, your Bulls BARELY beat Miami a few weeks back without LeBron and Bosh...

The Bulls will not win a 7 game series vs Miami with Miami healthy...

You do not have 1 player who can stop Wade or LeBron...Bosh will get his 15-17ppg regardless of Noah or Boozer.

On the other hand, Rose will find it tough going once LeBron or Wade start covering him...

The Bulls are good, but wont get it done...heck, you might not even get by New York or Orlando in Round 1.

That quote is a bunch of BS....

Shaq, Jermaine ONeal and the few others are nothing more or less than bodies on the bench...

They have been insignificant all season long.

Same can be said for Miami missing Haslem, which would provide another good low post body off the bench...

Don't believe me...go ask Dirk Nowitzki about Udonis and his defending ability and hustle from the 2006 NBA Finals....

Shaq not a factor? What dope are YOU smoking?

Is he Shaq of old? Of COURSE not. But Shaq proved to definatelybe serviceable to the Celtics, especially with Perkins out for half the season.

Point is: If they have at least 3 of the 5 guys that are hurt (Delonte, Shaq, Jermaine, Ermideh, Marquis) come back for the playoffs, NO team is going to beat them in seven.

His 5 rebounds and 9 points per game make me shiver....

Boston is the best team in the East as of now....but, lets see how it goes come playoff time....

Playing an intense 2nd round at their age vs Orlando will take its toll by the time they make it to the finals vs Miami.
