Soccer  > General Soccer  > Where is Ronaldo ranked all time?

If you have not heard, Ronaldo from Brazil has announced he is retiring.

- He scored more world cup goals than anybody ever
- 56 individual awards
- scored 247 league goals in just 343 club games, an average of a goal in 72 percent of his games
- scored 62 goals for Brazil, behind only Pele

He has to considered the scorer in the past 20 - 25 years

after Pele, Cruyff, Maradona, Beckenbaur, and Charlton I would put Ronaldo in the next level (in no order)with Puskas, Hagi, Platini, Zidane, Ronaldo (Portugal) and Eusebio.

I think you are in the ballpark.
I was lucky enough to follow him through most f his career. And one thing that got to me is how high was his soccer IQ. His vision of the game, and how he could contribute even after his knees gave up on him...

He was definitely a great player and i don't know if we could say he was the best ever, but he is near the top on my all time player list.

Best the striker of the modern ear from late 90's till 2005, most defender fear him more than another other player who ever play during that time frame.
