Gallanari is averaging 15 a game and is increasing across the board. He's 23. Chandler is averaging 16.4 a game and is increasing in field goal percentage annually, along with rebounds. This is despite playing the same amount of minutes. Raymond Felton is #5 in the NBA in assists. The PG's job is to get teammates involved and he is #5 in the world in the greatest basketball leage. He's 26.

Enter Carmelo Anthony. The guy does average between 24 and 28 annually. He's a scorer. But he's 27 and has played 8 years of NBA minutes. Thats more than double what Gallo and Chandler played. He's peaked, or is peaking, whatever you want to say. He's a great player. But he is not worth Felton, Gallo, Chandler, and now Mosgov. That's just rediculus.

What this team needs to do is hold on to its players, not sell them out for new ones. Felton is playing pretty well, and the Knicks need to wait to see what they do in the playoffs. They haven't even reached the playoffs yet. If the Knicks make it to the 2nd round or better, will you then say you need to blow the team up? I don't think so. James Dolan is an idiot if he trades away 4 guys for 1 guy, and an aging Chauncey Billups that has 1 foot in a retirement home.

How about instead of trading everyone for a quick headline and a bunch more people wearing new #15 Anthony jerseys you grow a pair, and stick to your guns. Let him wait it out, and sign him next year without gutting your young talent? Maybe even sign a bigman like Patrick Ewing as an assistant to work with Mozgov?

If the current lineup of Felton, Fields, Gallanari, Stoudamire, and Mozgov can win 7 of the next 10 games while getting on the same page, and playing guys less by using a 9-10 man rotation, you already have the winning formula. Just give it the next 20+games to gel.

If your going to trade for anything, trade for passing PG, so that Ray Felton doesn't have to play 40 minutes as the only distributor on the team.
