Tough one. Both have the rings, MVPs, both the "go to" guys with the game on the line , etc. etc. But, following the instructions in your begining thread and ignoring stats/accomplishments, I would say Jordan. ( and I'm a Laker fan ). By the smallest of margins.

Kobe is no Michael Jordan.

You must be young to ask that question. No one who watched both Jordan and Bryant play would argue that Kobe is in the same league. Kobe is not even number two. Jordan was a much better defenders and led the league in steals every year, he had a better shoting percentage, averaged more points, and in truth his teamates sucked. Kobe has always had strong teamates.

I could have sworn that John Havilecek was in the top 10 but after some research he is #12. I had him instead on Hayes. 9 of 10 not to bad.

Oh and Kobe is not even close to Jordan.

Well no he's not, but he's still best player in the world :)

Kobe is the best in the NBA now and has been for sometime.

I had the pleasure of seeing them both play. Jordan only a few times ..(tickets for bulls games were hard to come by in the late 80s -early 90s

I don't think it close though, Jordan was the best to ever lace'm up. period

Remember, Jordan played at the end of the 'Real basketball era' when players could actually play defense with out a foul being called every 45 seconds. The game is soft now.

Those years where the Pistons roughed him up helped Jordan absorb and play through contact which in turn, made Michael Jordan into an absolute monster on the court.

Kobe is good ... but Michael transcended the game. People that dont follow basketball knew who MJ was.
