While everyone and their mommas will be rooting for Bones here, let's try to be unbiased and discuss if Rashad has any chance...
March 20, 2011  10:25 AM ET

I say yes. He's been training with Bones since bones moved to MMA. Greg Jackson said he won't be involved, so while both guys might lose their best (training) asset, Rashad has been training for longer and is the more experienced fighter.

So all in all, I think Rashad loses. But he might prove to be someone who shows some ways of beating the champ... Disagree?

I will actually be rooting for Rashad as much as I hate his guts I hate Jones even more at this point. He's an arrogant ass. But Jones will beat Rashad pretty easily IMO.

I agree Jones will win.
And I do hope Jones would be humbled by the loss.

But my point is that since Rashad has been training with Jones since Jones started training MMA< he might know what are his weak spots, and maybe even be able to explore it.

Much like Carwin shoed the world how Lesnar didn't like to get punched in the face...
Then Cain explored this to beat him.

Rashad might know something Jones is uncomfortable with, and show the way to beat jones...

Could be although Jones will also know Rashad's weak spots.

Exactly what I was thinking, Jim.

yeah, bu that we already know.
I am interested in Jones ones only :)

Shogun is one of the best in the world at using overhand punches to get his hands past people with long reaches. Rashad has snappy punches but with no extension. Horrible for him standing. He will have no chance.

He has a grinding, methodical takedown style that is usually a disaster against a tall guy who knows how to properly use hooks and wizzers, which Jones does.

He is small too, very small. Jones will tower over him and outweigh him by at least 23 pounds.

I just have one question:

Is the world ready for Bones to pack on 20 pounds of muscle and completely wreck the UFC Heavyweight division?

March 20, 2011  08:39 PM ET

I think he needs to mature a little more.
You know someone I think would give him fits? Randy! Grab bones and don't let him lose through a full round. Rinse & repeat for 5 rounds. Would be ugly, but doable.

But back to the question, I think Bones needs to mature a little more. it is ok to do it now when his reach is so big and his fighting style so unorthodox that nobody can get too close.
But the top HW are almost as big (negating his big advantage against LHW's), and pack more power.

I think he can beat most, but someone fast like Cain or JDS or strong like Carwin or even lesnar might prove harder to beat at this stage.

I do think he can win it all at HW, but it will take more than simply switching and tearing them off like he did in LHW.

I don't give Rashad much of a chance. I'm trying to figure out what the opening betting line will be. It'll be a big one.

I think Machida would be a tougher opponent for Jones in the LHW. And Spider, of course.

With that frame, it makes perfect sense for him to do it at some point. But he's 23 so there is no rush.
Have you guys seen Bones' brother? Plays for the Ravens. He's the filled out 300 pound version. Crazy genes in that family.

Bones wouldn't be able to withstand JDS's new Showtime kick...

Nog is out cold! Hahha

Just found the opening line.
It's -525 Jones, +375 Rashad

Bones will at least have to change parts of his gameplan that Evans is familiar with.

Evans has left Jackson's camp so Jackson will now be training/cornering Jones.

And in about a year... This guy ^^^

It'll be good to get a scouting report next weekend.
