NFL  > Chicago Bears  > Can the Bears beat the Texans and win the Division?
December 24, 2008, 12:44 PM
If the Bears beat the Texans I think they could win their division only if Minnesota loses to the Giants which of course they will. Their last win over Green Bay was a non- stop game with an outstanding finish when the Bears blocked the field goal, won the coin toss, rushed up the filed, set up the field goal, and made it. Now that's what Monday Night Football is supposed to be like!

Oh, now you know everything. well when the Texans win at home we will see. Oh, and by the way they will with Slaton running the ball right down the Bears throat.

Take a look at Chris Johnsons Running game agaisnt the Bears earlier in the season....those two running backs are awfully comparable....both rookies, 38 yds separate themselves, and Johnson got absolutely stuffed by Chicago...

nah texans are too good for the bears

Minnesota gave u the 1st game earlier this year and beat u like buck tooth steep children last game we played. Bears lose because its a pressure game and Houston has nothing to lose! Vikes win and in . u heard it here first teddy bear fans.

How exciting you be green bay, so has everyone but Detroit. U R correct when u say if we beat Houston. Houston was good enough to beat Tennesee they can certainly beat u. Dont be so sure the Giants will beat Minnesota. We have a better chance of beating them then u would i mean after all last time we played u we beat u like buck tooth step children with club feet! bottom line we win were in u lose u snooze till next year.

1) English, mother ****er! Do you speak it?!
2) And the Raiders beat the Texans just last week. The Texans are hardly invincible. And if we can beat the Saints, the team with the best offense in the league, then we can certainly beat the Texans. And we also were closer to beating the Titans than you were, despite them passing on us all day. We've shown that despite the inadequacies on offense, we can still make teams sweat and earn their wins. You've had to rely upon a highly questionable at BEST PI call, just to beat the KITTENS, of all teams!
3) Why shouldn't we think that the Giants will beat the Queens? You BARELY beat Detroit! And Coughlin is an old school coach. He operates with the mindset that you should play to win every game, and go into the playoffs with momentum. He doesn't believe in the resting all of his starters crap. And with that Fat **** Williams out, expect the Giants to burn you on the ground. Hell, Ward alone torched the Panthers. And he's the backup RB. I expect the Giants to **** slap you all over the field. Bye, bye 2008 Queens. It wasn't nice knowing you.

Look, no need to get nasty.

All the teams who play tomorrow will give it their best.

I hope for the Bears, I pray for the Bears, but I am a Chicago fan; and thus, I will likely end up reciting the Cubs motto:

Better Luck Next Year.

With that being said, the Bears need to focus on beating the Texans (no easy feat) without the assistance of Divine Intervention (like what happened against Green Bay). For the love of all that is holy, on the kickoff put up a wall of beefcake, and give Hester time to do his thing. The guy on MSNBC said it best last year: "The 11th Commandment: Thou Shalt Not Kick To Hester!"

The Vikings need to 1) focus on not taking themselves out of the game. 2) Pray the Giants show up with a pee-wee football squad to take their starters place. C'mon, you know it would look funny on TV to see little six year old kids getting mowed down by a Vikings offensive line that would be (rightfully) concerned about the toddlers grabbing a fumble and walking it into the end zone to show mommy.

Last, and it's looking like "least", those love-able losers, the Detroit Lions. Look, 0-16 isn't all that bad. It really isn't. Ford is about to go belly-up anyhow, so you're team is probably going to get sold (for a pittance) to keep a few auto workers on the payroll for (considering what the Lions are worth)...about ten minutes. If not, your new owner will be the Government of the United States of America! You should be excited, Lions fans! It's not like the Gov. has ever mis-managed anything; they're the best in organization and long-term planning...oh...wait...

On the bright side, we'd be able to make fun of the new President for having a crappy personal football team.

No matter what the final score, our offense played terribly against Green Bay. I know all that counts is the W, but the way our offense played we had no business winning that game. That said, if they honestly care about more than the money everyone on the offensive side of the ball should be embarrassed after that win and I hope they use that to their advantage in preparing for the Texans. Corey Graham had a great game last week and it would make sense to match him up with Johnson but I'm worried about the problems that we may have over the top with Steltz replacing Mike Brown. As usual, the outcome of this game is going to rest on the defense's shoulders. If we can keep Johnson quiet we'll have a shot because Slaton isn't going to get anything. And the Vikes don't have a prayer against the Giants who rode their momentum to the Super Bowl last year and can't afford to back into the playoffs.

Remember that the giants have all ready won there divison and there is no reason for them not to play all there back ups and not put in much effort. I still hope that the bears pull it off :)
