I think Phil needs to fight someone better. Maybe Franklin/forrest should fight Nog... that will be a winnable fight for either and will help one of them rebound.
Good picks!
I would LOVE to see Diaz-Sadollah. That would be just a strike happy brawl.
PS: Has anyone else noticed that Sadollah has a friggin steel chin lately? Just walking through shots....

Good thought. But who could Phil fight? Shogun? Maybe Machida, if he beats Randy? Rampage?
I know a lot of people are trying to push for Phil-Jones, but Phil simply isn't ready. 3 of his last 5 fights have been decisions. He needs to learn to be more explosive if he wants to get in there with the real big dogs.

I agree on that.
I think either Rahsad, Rampage or even Rua (although it is unfair to Rua) :)
I like Machida or even randy against either Phil or Bones.
There are a lot of questions of how those guys would fare if someone is able to implement their gameplans onto those (skilled) newbies.
So far, i think most people are in awe of their game, and their reach advantage makes it hard to stand & bang with them. but nobody really lost the "respect" they impose in the octagon and just did whet they did best.
IMO Randy would tie either against the cage for 3 rounds and frustrate them... or tire them to a point where they could not simply se their flashy moves.
I think Forrest should be next for Davis. No need to rush him and I think it makes a lot of sense from a matchmaker's point of view. Both are marketable guys - and both could also afford a loss to the other guy with no shame.
It's a good fight for Phil's development (win or lose). Forrest is big for a LHW, has decent take down defense, and will and bring pressure for 3 rounds (unlike Lil Nog who was looking for to trap Phil with counter strikes and then seemed drained).

I also think Machida could matchup nicely against Phil.
And Randy always brings a gameplan and could pull something off since Phil hasn't developped his standup yet to keep Randy at bay.
Machida looked tentative against Rampage but defensive style karate could actually frustrate Jones and expose some angles of attack.
Randy vs. Bones? Yeahhh...No.
Lets see how Evans does against Bones whom he knows so well. Evans is not backing down from the fight and could actually challenge him. When Jones won the title and Rogan told him his next opponent was Evans he didnt seem too happy. Evans might know something that we don???t know about his game since he has trained with him for a while now.
QUOTE(#11):
I think Jones wins but it will be closer than a lot of people are saying. If you listen to a lot of people Jones will rape Rashad. I don't think so.
My only fear is Evans performance after taking a long break and also coming back from injuries. Fighters who are recovering from injuries normally don't do too well in their next fight.
to tell you the truth, i don't care for rashad. However I do think he has the map of the mine, and knows what to do against jones.
he might not be able to execute, but I do think he might show the rest of UFC how to beat Jones... kind of like Carwin did to Lesnar. he lost, but he showed Lesnar didn't know how to take a punch or defend at the bottom of a GnP
QUOTE(#14):
Tell that to Rumble Johnson, but seriously, I agree. Its usually tough.
I was disappointed Johnson didnt finish the fight. I know he was off for a while but he basically dominated the fight and could have finished it.
But he tried. some positions I was amazed he didn't tap. But then again, it was the same against GSP. The dude simply do not tap.
QUOTE(#19):
Right, you can say whatever you want about Hardy but the guy does not tap, and he's tough as nails.
yeah, but this is kind of dumb though. it brought me flashbacks of Aoiki when he broke that dude's arm just because...
Some good spirited fighters might give up on the sub, but others would just push until it breaks...
