NFL  > General NFL  > Poor disadvantaged players from rough upbringings just can't help themselves
April 2, 2011, 11:49 PM
Example: Dez Bryant.

NFL Today says he just doesn't know any better, that he's the product of a rough upbringing that robbed him of the learning experience most children have growing up.

Oh boo fricking hoo! Cry me a river! Let's dumb everything down in order to cater to the lowest common denominator. NOT!

Here's a suggestion: all you poor disadvantaged underrepresented uneducated immature tools should stay out of the NFL. We don't need you and nobody owes you a damn thing! There is plenty of talent available to take your place and you're not all that special to begin with, except for maybe touchdown dance moves or other goofy BS act somewhere else? I hear day labor construction pays pretty good in the spring.

I don't think it takes a PhD to understand that when you take something you have to pay for it. Someone sets you up with 6-8 expensive watches, some jewelry encrusted with diamonds etc they are going to expect payment. Where's the mystery? "Debt" Bryant is a tool, I don't care how many TDs he scores.

I agree. But in a way the NFL brings this kind of behavior upon themselves.

Look at Tennessee Titans safety Myron Rolle. He's the Florida State kid that postponed his NFL career one-season because he was offered a scholarship to study at the University of Oxford. When he entered the Draft teams considered it a "red flag" that he is more interested in his future as a doctor than playing football.

The NFL would rather have athletes who are dumb as bricks, so they can play puppet master.

If you were an NFL owner,

Would you rather have a guy like Carson Palmer who squirrels away $80 million in the bank, and can one day threaten to either be traded or retire

-or-

Would you rather have a guy like Tiki Barber who is so dumb with his money, he's begging to play?
