NFL  > General NFL  > Who are these new "friends"?
April 5, 2011, 05:48 PM
3 times I've received these "friend invites" from people who have loads of friends but ZERO posts or comments on any threads. NO comments in TnR, blogs, messageboards, throwdowns etc. (it's easy to check when you look at their profile) Zip, nada, none, not one but they have 99 friends? What is up with that? Is this how the spammers are sneaking in? polluting our threads.

Beware the "will you be my friend please" who has never posted, been heard from, ever done any real posting on these sites....maybe rather than posters they are "posers".

lol,....maybe they have an ''avatar-fetish'' !?

Interesting question, as I looked into my new "friends" they seem to befriend folks who have what would be called "racy" images posted. I felt it my duty to look at many of these to see if there was a correlation.

After countless hours of research I concluded that too many of these young ladies let people with cameras sneak into their boudoirs and take pictures of their underthings. I'm still researching if this is a bad thing; the photos that is, not the the under-things. The under things are not a bad thing, in fact in many pictures they are right next to a very good thing, pressed up tight, very tight. I had to go to a higher resolution to see just how tight. I felt it was unsafe and sent e-mails to offer to remove them......wait I'm ramblin' again.

I've had plenty of those invites. I never accept them.I wonder why some forums on FN (T&R for instance) have tons of spam, but never on TDs?

Probably because unless you are actually in the TD section, only three TDs show up on the side bar when you are anywhere else on the site. The spam is few and far between over there because of it. But with T&R and message boards, there's links to those all over the place both here and on SI itself. All the better to spam you with, my dear.

Damn. I figured there was a reasonable explanation for it ... was hoping something could be done to make T&R as undesirable for spam as TDs are. :(

It sucks all the way around. The spammers blog and send fanmails now... until they come up with a useful registration filter, we'll have to continue to wade through it :-(

The thing is, it can't be very lucrative for the spammers! All they do is piss people off. I mean, do people here on FN actually order stuff from these people??? I mean, who is that stupid????

I told a spammer last week that I would only buy a "Cheap High Quality Jersey" from them if they could show me they were a "Cheap High Quality Spammer". I got nuttin'....

Many people all over the internet would disagree with your statement. Just sayin'.
