is there anyone else out there that thinks charlie has a hard time teaching kids??? it seems to me that he was a great NFL coach but is having a hard time with kids who need to be taught. why are some of these kids leaving?? i can see jones but not the linemen or tight end, it doesn't make sense to me, does he not relate to these kids well, is he an arrogant jag. i just dont get it. imput please.

I think Charlie can't motivate them. Reuland the tight end fell to fourth on the depth chart, so that's the reason why he left. Carufel is a different story. I think he didn't like Charlie. I think Charlie's style of coaching fits better with the pros and not college.

Charlie will be a better coach because of what happened this year. Remember, he's been learning on the go. He had vets to work with in 05, and now he knows how to work with 17 & 18 yr old kids. Don't read in to kids leaving too much, some of them are leaving places like FL too.

I think the BIGGEST problem this year was the line that divided the upperclass and the up & comming freshmen.
2008 will be much better with all the studs from the new recruits.

there is a huge difference between coaching pros and students. charlie needs to get some solid assistants to focus on fundamental stuff, like footwork and blocking on the o-line. last year we had problems with basic stuff like tackling and footwork on the defense and that was addressed this year.
i think CW has a hard time letting his assistants coach. he needs to step back and let them do their job. especially on the offense. he should be doing nothing but working with QB's and calling plays on Saturday.
he has to fire the o-line coach and hire the guy that just got canned at michigan.
