NFL  > San Diego Chargers  > Greatest comeback since the New York Giants 13 1/2 games & Colts in 1958 vs Giants
December 29, 2008, 06:34 PM
Having spent $2 to buy a ticket stub from a friend's uncle and then presenting it to the ticket agent at the gate who sold it for $1, I felt pretty good about the standing room only admission to Yankee Stadium on that fateful day Dec 28, 1958. It was "The Greatest Game Ever Played" and the Baltimore Colts would go on to win the first sudden death overtime game in a Chamionship.

Fast forward to Dec 28th 2008. The Chargers spent 3 or 4 weeks clawing their way back from some last second defeats at the hand of Carolina and Ed Hoculi. If Denver had won one of their last 3 games San Diego would be singing the blues but instead it will be ringing in the green as in money as fhe Bolts meet Indy this Saturday.

The Chargers have recharged the naysayers here in San Diego. Couldn't be done!
What a waste. Oh really! Now Norv Turner looks like a shoo in for a contract extension and maybe even a pay raise from the Spanos crowd. The Chargers had a little help from Buffalo and a lotta help from Denver but they did it "their way". This season will be looked back for decades as a turning point in Charger history. Who said the Chargers were dead. Not Philip, LT, Darren etc.

Kiudos Conference Champions!!!
