There's always a silver lining - at least it didn't end the game!
Admittedly, KC sure lost focus on the bases in that 2 gm. series.
After getting two pinch runners picked off first base and another thrown out trying to steal Wed. night, Cabrera was picked off 1st base on Thur., Gordon was thrown out trying to steal 2nd and Francoeur was the 6th runner the Royals lost on the bases in those two games.
Six 'potential' runs erased in two days.

Well, you did have '85 !!! I was living in Topeka(sshh, don't tell anyone that) in 85. Made 3 KC games--Red Sox, Yanks, O's. The Red Sox game went 14 innings, the Yanks; Billy Martin was manager, again, and Yogi was a bench coach, the O's, well you know who was just starting his career. Got transferred and on the way stopped and watch a Cards game. Come october, I was back in Louisiana. When I turned on the tv to watch the WS, guess who was playing. Oh, the irony. At least KC won a WS. The Astros played? in one. They got swept!! Hopefully, both teams can make it back in our lifetime. Ain't waiting for the 'stros to do it, though.
While I was there, I went to the last KC Kings game. They played the Lakers! Oops! Lew, Magic, Worthy and their Hollywood coach. Don't think the Kings are doing so well in Sac. Do you think they might try KC again?
Me either!

I was three when the Royals won the World Series and last went to the playoffs (and am almost 30 years old now). I love the Royals, but don't really know if they'll ever be successful when I'm actually around to enjoy it (aka - the next 50 years). Im beyond frustrated and just hope that they can finally develop a nucleus that our crappy ownership won't break up.
