I think they were testing at the all-star race, maybe they figured out they had no chance to win it.
Or this teams is just that bad, I hope my first guess is the right one.
The #42 team in at a crossroads right now, they have to make a big move in the standings.
I do understand some of Juan's best tracks are coming, but those tracks should be used to solidify their chase spot.
It would be a shame to have to win or do well at Sonoma, Pocono,Indy, Atlanta and Watkins Glenn just to have a "chance" to make the chase.
They are really running out of time, in the last few races many teams outside the chase are making big moves towards the top ten chase standings, I think it would be safe to say up to seven teams are in the top ten to stay, and I would bet the house that #16 and # 24 will make the chase.
That's easy math folks , there isn't many spots left.
Chip Ganassi needs to wake up and do something in the next 3 races or this is over.

Last week transmission problems, this week a broken throttle...who is engineering and building this crap? Indycar running out of fuel? Chip needs to pay attention to his business or get out. This is no way to keep yoir talent happy. As nice as the new 42 merchandise looks, Im not wasting money on something I may not use after November.

Montoya has had problems BUT he is in 15th spot in the Chase, only 15 points behind Biffle in 12th spot. He has 2 poles and 4 Top 10's in 11 races this year, not great but not bad either. Now, McMurray is a little off his game BUT he had a win and a second place at Charlotte last year.

Agree but if you do a graph on the performance of the last 4 races you can see this tean is going downhill fast...
