NCAAF  > General NCAAF  > Pryor drove a 350Z to a team meeting, well at least it wasn't a Benz...tough life..
June 2, 2011, 10:15 PM
The Pryor camp said they paid or financed $11,000 for a 2007 Nissan 350z with 80,000 miles, that is a heck of a good deal.
I went on Kelly Blue book and got the retail price on a 2007 350z (the base model) it added up to $17800, the wholesale price (trade in value) was about $13,000 if the car was in average condition, now remember this is the base model, there are about seven styles including convertibles and they add $1500 or more to the cost.
I'm not sure what style of Z he got so I used the cheapest of the models, I thought that was fair,
I also went car shopping for the same car with around the same year and millage, the best deal I found was a 2006 (year older) with 71,000 for $16,995.

I want to be as fair as I can, so I'm going to ask one question to any fan or folks from the Pryor camp:
Is $11000 the balance after deducting the value of a trade( if any) or a down payment?
If the above question is irrelevant , than all I can say is that is a heck of a deal my friend, they basically bought that car at dealer cost.
Good gig ......Columbus most be a great place to get a good deal..
Enough said

I heard he was just test driving it. I'd like to think he isn't so stupid that he would drive a car like this to a meeting in the midst of all this.

I mean, a car that is his, that he got illegally.

No ..his Lawyer said the car was financed for 11000 dollars , that was the story line of the post...

He did nothing illigal with this car if his mother bought it with her own money...

Seems like I recall a trade-in of a Charger or something like that, and the price of the 350Z was like $18k, leaving the $11k to finance. Not certain though, go look on SI main page.

In High School it was the family car....in College it was a 7 y/o Chevy with a straight 6.

His Mom bought it, financed it, his lawyer backed it up, this as much of a non-story as the Thadeus Gibson purchase...

I know TP is going to be the scapegoat for all of this, but there was a lot more going on than just him being a dumb kid...

I agree. Pryor is only guilty of questionable judgement. Given the existing stories of him and other players getting deals on cars, this was not the best time to be picking up a flashy new ride.

67 Mustang in high school. beautiful car. It died of rust by the time I got to college, so my next car was a '75 Ford maverick. Not much for impressing the ladies, but it got me where I needed to go and always started on a cold buffalo morning.

Yep. The whole read quarter panel was pure bondo. After I graduated from college in Buffalo, my new employer paid to move my worldly possessions to LA, including the Maverick.

So the moving company is loading the Mav onto a transport rig and the driver pulls out the damage insurance papers. He asks, "so how much is it worth?"

My brother jumps in and says, "depends on how much gas is in the tank."

In college it was a Datsun B210
