NBA  > Dallas Mavericks  > Dirk No Help = Mavs Lose
June 5, 2011, 10:56 PM
dirk is not getting the help needed to win this series. the heat have three superstars and the mavs have one. no mystery here on how this series will end. and jj berea is NO help. missed layups, missed FGs, bad passes. dallas is playing 4 against 5 when jj is on the court. and all the talk about lebron.... wade is clearly the better player on the heat team. not even close.... unless you are talking about flashy slams. wade is just awesome.

It is sad to see. Hopefully Cuban does something this off season and brings in someone to help Dirk out. It will be nice to have Butler back next season, but they still need someone else as well. JJ is not the answer, yes he had a nice run in the western conference, but he has disappeared in the finals. He is unable to make a jumper and looks lost. Terry is not very dependable in the playoffs again!! If your team is relying on Marion to score 18 to 20 every game, then your team is in trouble. Great season for Dallas, and an amazing Playoff performance from Dirk, but he can't beat 3 All Star players by himself.

All of a sudden it's that Dirk is on his own that is why Dallas is struggling. Didn't hear that when JT was lighting up LA or JJ Barea was cutting to the hoop against OKC or when Peja was averaging 12 PPG in the conference semis...... The Mavs just met a team which can defend..... D Wade is a great player but I like to see you guys who look at any excuse to put down Lebron. I mean really. A few games ago he was being hailed as the best in the NBA as the Heat took down the MVP and his team. Now after 1 game you are ready to make judgment on Lebron again? LOL!! Funny thing is I do not think either one of them is competing against the other but you fans just try to find something to put between them......... Give it a rest.....

dallas dis meet a team that can defend better than previous playoff teams. and when they meet a team like this, it shows their weaknesses.... like JJ, Jet, etc. it's great if these guys can play at a high level against some teams, but if dallas wants to win a championship, they need players that can compete against all teams and JJ and jet don't fill that order. i'm not putting lebron down.... i've said the heat has three superstars, but wade just seems to be the better all around player. and it's not just one game.... look at the series stats - wade's stats are just plain better. why would you care???? the heat will win this series and are the team to beat for yrs to come. it's always funny to see some heat fan defend lebron like he's his brother.... when they should be looking at the big picture here LMAO!

You talk about looking at the big picture but you make your claim the Wade is better based on 3 games?? Did you miss the Boston and Chicago series? You know when LeBron was closing out every game and Wade looked like he had never even seen a basketball before. Guys have bad games and the beauty of Miami is when one of them is bad the other looks great most of the time.

Firstly I am a Hawks fan but I do follow the Heat and I appreciate good basketball.... I just pointed out for you that in all of the other series Lebron was clearly at a higher level but there are people like you who clearly have a thing against this guy. You guys who have this hard on for Lebron will clutch at straws to diminish him. God forbid he only had one outing with 17 Pts n 9 asts. And quite frankly I wasn't defending him (what's there to defend..???). Funny thing is you start a thread where you proclaim your opinion but somehow my opinion is some 'Heat fan defending Lebron'...........

Those d*mn Heatles! I hate to point out the obvious but the commentators even said last night that that 3 at the end of the 1st half shouldn't have counted. Very ironic that the Mavs lost by 2 last night. That call right there was a perfect example of why the Mavs had already lost this series before it even started. Thanks D. Stern!

gotta be honest.... i'm not a heat fan at all and i do not watch them. so my observations are based mainly on this series - which is not really fair, i'll admit that. lebron may be better than wade.... they are both incredible. if i seem "against" lebron it probably somewhat natural.... most of the country hates this arrogant but talented kid. he sh** on a city that absolutely loved him and not because of what he did, but how he did it. made me sick to see "the decision" and the three of them standing on the stage, arms crossed like they were gods. and all the comparisons to jordan, magic, etc.... the true legends of this game. way premature!!! when lebron has 6 rings let the comparisons begin. so go ahead and pat yourself on the back for defending the most arrogant player the sports world has seen..... something to be proud of no doubt!

June 6, 2011  07:02 PM ET

Wow Dallas fans all are idiots I guess. They have great players outside of Dirk and he is getting help. They are just getting outplayed. Simple.

June 6, 2011  07:06 PM ET

and i don't think i was diminishing anyone.... i did say the heat has three superstars and wade and lebron are incredible. that hardly sounds like statements that question lebron's talent.

wow.... you're and idiot if you think JJ and jet are great players like bosh or wade. and if dirk had gotten help last nite they'd have won. but the heat is a better team. simple.

My question would be when the Mavs lose do we blame Dirk?? I guess the obvious answer is no, but then I have to ask why was it so easy to blame LeBron for not winning in Cleveland with lesser talent? I would say don't blame either guy, but I bet more than 50% of fans will say just what you said at the top, Dirk just needs more help but LeBron should have been able to win it alone.

ITS THE ONLY ARGUMENT I NEED SHAWN!! haha I might go see that movie just for that scene. People shouldn't compare James to Jordan because there styles are completely different. I think comparisons are dumb just because of the difference in eras but if you are going to do it the only ones that make sense would be Magic or Big O

June 7, 2011  12:49 PM ET

hard to blame dirk when he's scoring 30+ and getting little help in this series. but part of dirk getting little help is related to the heat's defense. not too hard for lebron to shut down terry... lebron is so much more talented. so really, maybe it's not so much that dirk isn't getting help, but that his players that did well in previous series cannot do this against miami. give dallas two or three dirks and this is a different series. but, if we win tonite this series is still very much alive. as for lebron staying and winning in cleveland, like dirk, one star can't do it alone. that's why lebron bolted to miami and became part of an all-star team.

June 8, 2011  06:08 PM ET

Aye sorry to say but the Mavs are professional choke artists and their gonna prove it thursday night and sunday it will all be over...But you're right LeBron is a great, even AWESOME role player in Miami with Flash, not the best on the team though.

June 9, 2011  01:18 PM ET

talk about choke artists.... haven't seen a better choke job by a "star" player than what lebron is giving us in the most important series of this career. 8 pts tues nite.... LMAO!! what a chump. read where wade chewed him out good the other nite and poor lebron took it like a boy. guess he knows who the real leader of this team is....
