MMAjunkie reports that the winner of the Grand-prix tournament would like a title fight with the UFC heavyweight champion.

I personally think Overeen is going to win the tournament and would like to see him fight Cain. The ufc heavyweight is about to get a lot interesting and feel that strikeforce will eventually fold or be used as a minor league for up and coming or ufc fighters on a losing streak. What do you guys think of a potential matchup between Overeen/Silva fighting for the ufc title?

Isn't Werdum still in the grand prix as well???

Yes I think SF will fold, just like Pride and just like WEC. But it will make for some interesting fights!!

Yes, but I favor Silva or Overeen to win the tourney.

He is fighting Overeem in July, and Barnett is fighting Rogers on the other side of the bracket.

I thought it would happen in 2 years when their Showtime contract expired. But with Diaz/GSP this year and next year probably having Melendez vs Edgar/Maynard winner and SF/UFC HW champs facing off maybe they will fold sooner. So much for "business as usual" for Strikeforce

They are fighting in a week and a half from now.

And hopefully Barnett is fighting on the other side of the card. Reports surfaced today that Johnny Roider STILL hasn't obtained his license to fight in Texas.

I was under the impression he just had to fill out an application. No peeing in cups.

Didn't Werdum just beat Silva last year?

Would be a good matchup either Werdum or Overeem vs Barnett... If Rogers makes the finals they should just scrap it and match up the winner of the Werdum/Overeem fight against the current UFC champ. Of course the UFC would never do that but it would be awesome if they did.

I was thinking the Fedor/Hendo date, which is in July. How crazy would it be if Barnett failed a 4th steroid test lollol

Any body giving Kharitonov more than a puncher's chance here?

Id like to see him beat Barnett, who I think will beat Rogers bc all he has is a punchers chance
