I'm not the biggest Dale Jr. fan, I'm not a Dale Jr. basher and I respect him as a person and race car driver. My opinion is this.. I feel that Dale Jr.'s Crew Chief, Tony Eury Jr., is the main problem for Dale Jr.'s racing woes. Now, since Eury Jr. has been suspended all of a sudden Jr. qualifies 4th at the Coca-Cola 600 and should have definitely finished in the top 3 if not for fuel mileage. Now, he qualifies outside front row at Dover!!! All this with an interim crew chief.

I think Eury Jr. knows racing but he knows "Old School" racing. To be successful in today's NASCAR you have to have that "Old School" knowledge PLUS an education to posess the know how of making it in today's NASCAR. I'm sure Eury Jr. is as good as a guy as they come but he lacks the cutting edge knowledge to help Jr. all the way to a Championship. I think Dale Jr. would stand a heckuva lot better chance at his first Championship if he just stuck with the interim crew chief that he has now.
