NFL  > General NFL  > Money vs. Championship

What is an NFL owners responsibility?
To make money, or to win a championship?

If an owners objective is to make money, should he fire his front office or coaching staff when they do not make the playoffs, since this would not get them the extra playoff revenue that they desire? How many non-playoff seasons can happen before change is made?

Are you willing to pay the price that it takes to win, even if salary issues cause you into a luxury tax?

Which owners show are the best a balancing these issues to be competitive
and profitable?

speaking for the pats = a winning-record every season, and being a div.-champ. sure keeps the fans coming back every year $pending hundreds of dollars on parking, tix, food, beer, merchandise too !.......there's been a 50,000 people waiting list for the [last decade] since the pats first s.b.-win in 2001/02.,.........the krafts are $hrewd bizness people too !

Yep, we Cowboy fans are stuck with Jerry Jones and his stupid decisions. But we do have a neat, new stadium.

The way these things work is someone "forecasts" a profit of say...............12 million dollars for any given year, and the team only makes 9 million. They won't tell you that they made a profit of 9 million, but lost 3 million instead, because they didn't meet this projected goal.
They are not, by any means, going hungry.
