NFL  > General NFL  > Pick one team that missed the playoffs last year that could win it all this year ...
July 5, 2011, 07:30 PM
I sort of stole this from someone who posted somewhere earlier, but I thought it was an interesting topic and I want to see what everyone has to say!
As some of you know, I'm taking the Bucs! Josh Freeman is a better quarterback then he gets credit for and this year will be his standout year. The offensive line will be improved this year from last year (Morris hired a new coach and they've improved greatly these passed couple years.) Not to mention, Arrelius Benn and Mike Williams have proven to be great receivers.
I'm thinking he could go over 4,000 yards! And if Freeman's having a tough day, no problem, hand the ball off to LeGarrete Blount! He's gonna be a great running back one day ...
As for the defense, I think the Bucs did a FANTASTIC job in the draft. They didn't reach for anybody and they addressed everything they needed. Bowers, Clayborn and even Foster could all be big time play makers!
Ahmad Black looks like a promising safety as well!

What are your thoughts, what team that missed the playoffs last year could make it next year? You could even step it up and ask what team with a losing record has the best promise to make it next year? (In that case, I'm going with Cowboys)

"Detroit"

I agree, Detriot is on the right path to winning again. Finally ...
Matthew Stafford looks very promising. Let's hope the kid can stay healthy this year! CJ needs someone to throw him a good ball ...

The Dallas Cowboys might finally win it.

I'm going to say that Seattle will not make it to the playoffs. So eenie meanie mineie moe, San Francisco 49ers. I'll never witness it if the NFL doesn't come to a decision by the end of the month and starts playing football. 26 more days and I'm not going to watch the NFL.

I have to go with the Cowboys as well, unless they have a rash of injuries. Which is very possible, not just to them, but all other teams as well. But, I'd take a winning record and a chance in the playoffs, considering their disappointing season last year.

Just gimme some football! I'll take that as well, regardless of teams............lol..........

Jerry Jones meddles with the team coaching decisions and is a detriment to success. If he would step aside and just sign the checks instead of acting like HC & GM, the team would be better off.

You're spot on with that, but I can still wish.............lol

I don't keep up with NFL football. Are the Rams still in LA?

Nope. They moved to San Bernardino, and changed the name to the San Bernardino Saint Barnards

The Bucs are a good choice. I'm thinking that they could be really good. But they are still young. Detroit is coming no doubt. The Cowboys' secondary is still not good. And I don't believe that Romo is a big game qb. I think teams like Cleveland, the Raiders, the Chargers and St.Louis must be in that mix too.

I don't know about that. Not with Atlanta and New Orleans. The only way I could see that happening is if both teams lose their QB. I know we>the 49ers> play you and I know that TB is one team you have to put a big ? next to in the evaluation of the team.

I'm thinking that Atlanta isn't going to do as well as they did last year. This is a very good division, you're right, so one of these good teams aren't going to make it. I think Atlanta is going to miss out this year.
I still think New Orleans will win the division though. I'm thinking they'll do way better then last year.

I'm taking Detriot to go 8-8, maybe 9-7. They got no chance with the Packers and Bears in that division if you ask me!
