Still trying to qualify academically.
Huskers loves 'em some partial qualifiers ...
If y'all was in da SEC y'all could park him at da JUCO ...
QUOTE(#2):
According to FJJ, Quincy Russell didn't qualify academically, either. Austin's just effin' snakebit at DT as well at TE. Having no quality TEs is something you can scheme and game plan around, with at least partial success. Having no one to anchor the interior of your defensive line, however, ain't been workin' so well for us.
You could, ya'know, go for a three star kid that can actually get above a 600 on the SAT instead of always going the high risk/high reward route....
Just saying.

Fixed. ;-)
QUOTE(#4):
Mack's usually pretty good at picking kids who'll qualify academically. We've only lost 2 or 3 to grades and/or SAT scores over the past few years. But both have been DTs. Then we had another DT transfer to a D-2 school to get closer to extended family for help with child care. Bottom line, we ain't got any 300+ lb guys with good skills to anchor the D-line.
What are the rules about raiding JUCO's? If that fails do you have the LB's to run a 2-5 or some sort of wierd hybrid scheme with tons of run blitz built in?

Also, don't play any of the service academies... A chop block or two could make a bad situation that much worse.

Not many quality DTs out there, it seems.

I figure the 4-4-5 will work against Texas Tech, because no one at that school can count to 11, much less 13. Might work in Pasadena, depending on how stoned the refs are. After that could get tricky.
Always wondered about the "Tech" part of TT.

While not QUITE as good at GaTech..TT is still ranked in research universities....
First I've heard of it, so I don't know. BigRedBoss, welcome to the BigTen+2, I think the Huskers are a great addition to the conference. I'm a lifelong Ohio State fan myself.
Heard has qualified. He isn't on the outdated roster. He will be on the roster when it is updated in the fall. He is enrolled in classes already for the summer.

I couldn't resist mentioning partial qualifiers and JUCO on a Husker thread! Osborne got so butthurt when B12 voted to disallow partials. He blamed Mackovick, who was recruiting dummies parked at JUCO's! 1990's B12 drama would be a big hit on FN Truth & Rumors! Those were the days LOL.

So, to "LOL" Nebraska, you bring in SEC?

C'mon Default. Referring to the SEC's practice of grayshirting at most is just good-natured fun. Kinda like those who use "U$C". No harm intended, right?
