I assume its because Fitch wont be ready to fight and Penn doesn't want to wait for him?

QUOTE(#2):

Joe silva told penn that he and the fans didn't want to see fitch-penn again.

Im not sure if that's true. I think a lot of people did since they felt Penn was robbed and would like to see if he could get the win the second time around. I think it's more no one wants to see Fitch against just about anyone.

Maybe a bit of a conspiracy theory on my part, but I think Fitch may have really pissed off Joe Silva when Fitch went public saying that he's at the status level where he'll only fight champions like GSP and Penn. Fitch doesn't really sell PPVs and isn't in a position to be dictating terms and playing matchmaker.
Condit brings exciting fights the cage and has said he wants to stay active. With so many name WWs booked already, I can see Joe making Fitch the odd man out.

Hes been odd man out for a while. He's deserved another shot at gsp for a couple years but keeps getting passed over by guys less deserving. But when u can't sell ppvs and are considered boring by all fans then they will do all they can to avoid having him fill a top spot.

considering there is no other legit possibility for a guy with one loss to not get a 2nd crack at the title holder who gave him that one loss....

I like this fight but not for the match up. I just want to see penn get koed. I think condit can do it. To me it looks like penn is over the hump and on the down side of his career, also I have never liked penn fighting at WW. Condit has been rather impressive in his last couple fights and my have developed into a contender in the Ufc. He looked over hyped when he came over from the wec but it looks like he has taken it in stride and worked his **** off.

How do you think Condit would do against Fitch?

I think fitch would take Him to the and win by decision.

OK. So were you impressed that Penn took Fitch to a draw? I think my point is, most say Penn is washed up, and not impressive at WW, but he just fought the #2 WW to a draw.

And shouldve won.

QUOTE(#10):

You think Condit can KO Penn? No offense but thats laughable. Maybe he can win a decision, but he's not KOing Penn. Lets be real.

I wasnt impressed by fitch and penn in their last fight. I think that match up has run its course. Penns win over hughes was predictable....hughes is done and should retire. Penn looked old, slow, and unmotivated in the edgar fights. I think Penn has gone back to the days of him just relieing on talent and not training or game plan. I was waiting for him to come back after losing the first fight against edgar and just taking him to town, and all we got was crap. I'm not even going to go back to the last GSP fight where he was completely out classed (with some help from greasing but i dont think that made that much of a difference in that case). Penn always gets beat by GSP.

Fitch would be able to take condit down but I dont think penn's wrestling is as good. Penn has some awesome BJJ and amazing flexability. but I think Condits stand up and power is more then Penn's. So I really got to go with Condit by KO. I dont think it will be in the first round but maybe second, probably third

I had a feeling I was going to get an arguement from you on this one Jim.....no offense taken

I dont think its that he just fought the #2 WW to a draw and possible win as much as, they know each other so well that they know how to fight against the other
