NFL  > Cincinnati Bengals  > Oh-Line

Another year done and another off-season to figure out what I want the Bengals to do. And I look at things, regardless of the final record, I don't think, beyond the obvious, a whole lot need to be done. My prime concern and only real concern is the Offensive Line. I always believed it to be a mistake to have let Willie Anderson go before this past season and now everybody sees why. Stacy Andrews when healthy did not live up to franchise tag expectations and Levi Jones just can't stay healthy. There has always been a question mark at center since Rich Braham retired. So through draft heavily and maybe free agency lightly the o-line must be repaired. Draft prospects for the 6th pick overall include OT Eugene Monroe a Sr. out of Virginia, OT Micheal Oher, Sr., Mississippi, OT Andre Smith, Jr., Alabama. Any or all of these guys will be available come pick 6 of the draft. Now with T.J. and Chad. One will go, the other stay. The question is which stays. Well its not really a hard question. Chad must be traded. The bengals wil not get good compensation this yar, at least not in the area that the Redskins were offering (1st and conditional 3rd), wih the bad year and another year older. But it is not time to cut losses, swallow the bitter cap hit and let him go to whoever wants him. Now with T.J. he must stay. MUST be resigned to a long term deal. There is no questioning this mans desire or ability, franchise him if you have to but it should never come to it.SIGN T.J.. Now Cedric Benson is intriging in that is he the style of runner that best suits this team. To me he is a Rudi Johnson clone, which begs the question, why was Rudi let go last offseason. In any event, not only has Cedric become a valuable player but he has earned through hard work another contract and the starting job for this team hopefully for many years to come. Other must signs are safety Chris Crocker, K Shayne Graham, DE/DT John Thornton, OLB Rashad Jeanty.
