Boxing  > General Boxing  > Juan Manuel Marquez' recent opponent was supposed to get him ready for Pacquiao.

Marquez' recent opponent was a lefty like Manny and was knocked out in the first round. He was supposed to be a tune up fight for his upcoming duel with Manny Pacquiao in November. The guy wasn't even of Manny's caliber so I don't know why Marquez took the fight. A tune up fight is supposed to get you ready for an upcoming fight.
Manny would have had the fight last at least a couple of rounds before ending it to practice his timing and get some quality rounds in. Marquez should have done the same, he's not going to be able to knock Manny out like he did this guy.
I know there's a lot of Marquez fans out there but I don't think he's going to be able to handle Manny in November. Let's see!
