What do you mean by "Next Year", 2012? I think the biggest surprise this year 2011 will be Houston.

Yeah, I meant you should skip this year and tell me who will be the most surprising player in 2012 .. how much sense does that make?
by "next year" I clearly meant the next NFL season.
What do you mean Houston will be a surprise? Many people are taking them to finally come out and get into the playoffs. I think it would be more of a surprise if they had another bad season. A turn around from last years poor outing is definitely expected from this coaching staff and quarterback if you ask me.

Chargers. Fast start, no choke? On second thought, Nahhhh.
So you're saying you think they'll have another disappointing season? I'll admit, that would surprise me. I'm thinking the Chargers will face off against the Steelers in the AFC championship game. They may very well go to the Superbowl!
I'd be disappointed and shocked if the Chargers had another poor season. I'd also finally throw out Norv Turner.
Just imagine how great the Chargers would be if they threw out Turner and picked up Bill Cohwer? They have the potential to be a dynasty ...

Not wanting to dis your statement but Houston has been 'the team that will surprise you and win a boatload of games' for the last 6 years or so and they continue to disappoint those millionaire oil magnets that own the team. I feel so bad for them.

Are you talking about teams or players? Read your first sentence. Secondly, just because Houston might have been favored by some in the past they have been a flop, only 6-10 last year/season. It would be my biggest surprise that the Texans finally overcome their ineptitude and get past the Colts and become a playoff contender, live up to the expectations of prognosticators and fans. On the other hand it would be surprising to me if Washington doesn't end up with the worst record and possession of the #1 Draft pick of 2012.

Isn't Houston the breakout team every year?

I guess I can see Detroit taking that throne soon though.

Detroit went from perennial loser and then through the miracle of getting a new GM the landed some prize 1st rounders and have quickly built a decent team. They are young and need to gel. Will it happen this year? I wouldn't bet money on it.

I think the Browns will finally be in contention.
QUOTE(#14):
I think they'll be better than last year but still not quite ready to challenge for the NFC North title. I think they'll be a team to reckon with in 2012.
I think they are the next Texans.
Biggest surprise: Eagles. People will be suprised they are not as good as they are hyped up to be.
based on the news and speculation, the biggest surprise will easily be the iggles when they go nowhere.....

I'm surprised that nobody mentioned the Denver Broncos.
