NFL  > Indianapolis Colts  > Colts offseason plan!!!

First, I think Mike Hart will be a great back for the Colts, espicaly paired with Rhodes. Plus I think the RB draft class this year is weak and would make Addai attractive on the open market. In my opinion he is way over rated!!! There are many directions they can go. maybe they need to try hard to draft someone like, DT Terrance Cody, or LB James Lurinites. Trade Addai for a high draft pick to get WR Michael Crabtree or to the Bengals for TJ "Who's your mama" or possibly to the Cardinals for Boldin, because as much as id hate to see it, I dont think Harrision will be around much longer, but who knows, maybe he will take a paycut for the good of the team. They may be able get Tory Holt at a discount price as a stop gap while they groom a young WR. I love big Bob Sanders but he just does not stay healthly long enough to be worth it. His presence is to stop the run game. I say Free up cap space by getting rid of him and Addai and signing Albert Haynesworth. We can afford it if we trade Sanders and Addai to free up cap space and you know Manning would take a pay cut to get to the big show.

Something has got change...our philosophy needs to be tweaked on defense and special teams especially we need a dynamic play-maker... and on offense can we get a a reciever who is at least 6'4" ...someone who will go get the ball (for when Peyton is on one of his off days) and why didn't we sign Deangelo Hall when he was dropped by the raiders?

Stoke the defense with a couple of free agents Hanyesworth and a heavy hitter safety. Keep Sanders and couple him with a clone free safety. Offense needs are Harrison to be gone and a big 220 pounder to replace him. Addai has been a diappointment this year. I have never thought he had any real speed anyway. Until you can establish a short thowing game your long ball is no where.....

I would LOOOVE to have Crabtree. Talk about a spark to our offense.

What the colts need to do is sign Hayden to a decent deal...don't overspend for him because M. Jackson is coming back and Jennings really isn't all that bad. I think they need to sign Hayden though because next year is the last year of Jackson's contract. I believe they will draft a corner or two this year, a DT, couple of LBs, and probably an O-lineman.

Colts won't sign T. Johnson or Haynesworth. Haynesworth will cost too much and T. Johnson has had too many issues that they don't want to deal with - aka Ed Johnson 2.

Another Receiver....are you kidding? What we really need is to revamp our Defense. Let Meeks, Freddie Keiaho go and pick up some studs in the middle. I am sick of hearing about our amazing speedy rush and the fact that we only gave up 6 passing td's during the reg. season. Hello!!!! That might be due to the fact that we were damn near dead last against the run!!! Addai better get his act together, RB's are a dime a dozen.

Are you kidding? We need to address the defensive side of the ball. Its time to part ways with Ron Meeks and Freddie Kieaho!!! and to be completely honest, if Bob Sanders cant get healthy and stay healthy let him go too. I never thought I would ever say that, but you can still get value out of him in a trade. I am sick of hearing that our "D" only gave up 6 passing td's during the reg. season. Maybe that is b/c were next to last against the run!!!! Why pass? It is time for some new blood both in coaching and player personel.

Hey Tweeder, Addai isn't overrated, he sucks. As far as trading him for a "high" pick, good luck. Unless someone picks up Matt Millen, then you might be in luck.

I do like the idea of signing Tank Johnson. He has been in Dallas the past couple years and has stayed out of trouble, I think he will be OK in Indy. And I disagree, I bet someone like the Browns, would give up their high pick for Addai, hell I would even throw in Kehiho to get that pick!! The only bad thing is that Seahawks pick 1 above the Browns and they would most likely take Crabtree. Also we could probabally get alot for Bob Sanders. Marlin Jackson could move to Safty. (we also have Melvin Bullet and Mat Geridonio who are both good safties with lots of upside) Can anyone see a Sanders for Boldin trade?? It may be just a dream but it would be awesome for both sides. The Cards get Sanders and Wilson at the Safty position and Colts get Wayne, Boldin, Gonzales, and Clark to catch the ball from Manning. WOW. Even though he had alot of drops, Maybe a trade for Braylon Edwards could also be in the mix. So we can solve things by trading for a WR like Boldin/Edwards, Picking up Tank Johnson (cheaper than Haynesworth), drafting a MLB and O-linemen, a young WR to groom, and some young CBs.

I think the first thing to get are some LBs. I would love to have James Laurinaitis but I don't think that he will last long enough. I think the d-line isn't that big of a problem because a good set of linebackers can really help a d-line.

I agree that we need to have a bigger WR. The Colts have great possession recievers in Gonzo and Wayne but they really dont't have much of a deep threat guy. Don't get me wrong, Wayne call make some great plays on the deep ball but it would help to have a bigger guy.

The last thing I would worry about is the running game. There is some good trade potential there but remember that Addai was injured and I don't think he recovered 100% by the end of the season. Rhodes is a good backup runner and I have yet to see Hart carry the ball, so I can't judge how valuble he is.
