By the end of the day we will know where each team stands. The losers will have to ask themselves maybe their team is taking the wrong direction in building a new team.

Most teams play vanilla schemes in the preseason so they don't tip their hand to their opponents. Preseason is more about evaluating players and building depth.

Preseason is nothing more than a scrimmage, the only difference is that you are playing against a different teams personnel. Last week I was glad and a little upset that New Orleans decided to come out blitzing. It showed how ill prepared the SF offensive line was but at the same time someone could have got hurt. If this had been their game plan in a regular season game I would have no problem with it.

I have no problem with a team blitzing or running up the score in the preseason because these games are meaningless.

Pre-season is a time for vanilla and evaluating, some teams however choose to treat it as a regular season game. It's all good for those teams that choose to go all out during the pre-season but not so great when it's one of their starting players that get injured, have to weigh the risk vs reward which sadly some do not. Injuries do happen but some can prevented during these evaluation games, it's all up to the coaches and their mentalities.

Well Narrator, the Niners looked pretty good tonight. Something about the battle of the bay brings out the best in the home team.

You gotta be excited about Dixon though. He looked good tonight even if it was vs the second string.

Geez - that sounded like I was putting the niners down. Didn't mean it that way!

I have no problem with running up the scores, preseason or not. I have no problem in blitzing every down in the regular season, or on passing downs. New Orleans took a cheap shot at SF by blitzing just about every down in the 1st quarter, in a season where teams have had shortened practice time.

Unfortunately it did not bring out the best in the crowds watching the game. During the game a person was beaten unconscious in the mens bathroom by what was described as a 6'5" Samoan. Then after the game 2 people were shot both were unrelated but they think the gunman was the same person ( I guess the NRA will say that if the victims in the shooting had been carrying their own guns none of this would have ever happened ). 3 instances were people are now fighting for their lives. Soon people that have past criminal records or are gang affiliated will be banned from all sporting events, except the players of coarse.

That would eliminate about 80% of Raiders fans.

Imagine if all players found guilty of a criminal act were banned from their sport.

There wouldn't be enough players left to field a team.

I getting the funny feeling that maybe our spammer is a Raider fan. You know, his love of pirating.

I'd say the Raiders are moving into the wrong direction, sorry to say Al Davis doesn't know the right way anymore. To tell you the truth I think that Kyle Boller should be their starting QB, much more composure in the pocket, throws a better ball.

Taking Terrell Pryor in the compensatory draft, giving up a 3rd round draft choice proves the Raiders are on the wrong track.
