NFL  > San Francisco 49ers  > Preseason game 3 and the outlook for the 49ers is ?

PATHETIC, PATHETIC, PATHETIC; We all know that Jed York is a pathetic whiney newlywed son of the owner. Jed now has stooped so low that his master plan to save money on stadium security is to have a team that will routinely get blown out by halftime causing disgusted fans to leave by halftime, no one to shoot in a empty parking lot after the game, no need for security.

Next on our pathetic management list is Trent Baalke the GM. Looks like your #1 draft choice ALDON SMITH is going to be spending a lot of time on the bench. Being so tight fisted you let your 1st and 2nd string CENTERS go thus setting back your entire offensive line. The free agents you did sign will only be around for one more year, Dashon Goldson, Braylon Edwards, and probably FRANK GORE who is so pissed off because of lack of sincerity from Baalke for a contract extension, who knows he may just opt out for free agency next year.

The Niners looked really bad against Houston. Good luck in the regular season.

San Francisco so far in preseason has scored only 3 TD's ( one of those being an inception returned for a TD, 2 rushing TD's against Oakland. They have 0 passing TD's and 6 interceptions. Harbaugh- You need to play Alex Smith the whole game this Thursday against San Diego.

Back to Baalke; What was your reasoning behind letting David Carr go and bringing in Cade McCown? I see that Carr probably wasn't as washed up as we made him out to be, he's doing fine back in NYG. Another player to go to NYG was your Center David Baas, he jumped ship so fast he didn't give you time to make a counter offer, or were you sitting on your hands again. You strung Aubrayo Franklin along last year only giving him a one year deal, now he is most likely going to the playoffs with New Orleans. Takeo Spikes and Travis LaBoy went to San Diego, no big loss. Manny Lawson went to Cincinnati followed by Taylor Mays in a trade, ( What did you get in that trade? to embarrassed to say?, lets hope you got something more than 5th and 6th round picks for him. I'm still mad that in your closed mindedness that you are thinking of taking Aldon Smith a DE and trying to turn him into a OLB, I saw him trying to cover a decent TE ( He was lost, it looked like Willy Coyote trying to cover the Road Runner), yet you traded Taylor Mays without even trying to make him into an OLB. As bad a Mays was at covering WR's I'm sure he could have done a better job at covering a TE than Aldon Smith was attempting to do.

A message to Andrew Luck: You better hope that SF doesn't have the worst record in the NFL, you may think it sounds nice that you could hook up with your old College Coach but let me tell you something, this is not an offensive line that is good at protecting its QB. There is no Center, you can thank Trent Baalke for that. Joe Staley should get out of football and become a matador, he looked like one the way he has avoided the Bull rush. Time for Alex Boone to step up and take his place, the embarrassment of the offensive line rests solely on the shoulders of the line coaches.

Cheer up Narrator, my Lions have sucked for 50 years and now look like a contender. At least the 49ER's won four Super Bowls.

SF has won 5 Super Bowls, they are 5-0. What's up with Jahvid Best of the Detroit Lions, is his turf toe still hurting him? I keep trying to see as much of Detroit as I can just to see how he is doing.

I've been listening to several radio talk shows this morning and they are all starting to raise the Trent Baalke question. Baalke who was the #2 man behind Scott McCloughan when he was the GM of the 49ers has had his fingers in these 1st round picks since 2005: 2005-Alex Smith (this in all likelyhood will be Smiths last year) over Aaron Rodgers, 2006- Vernon Davis and Manny Lawson (no longer with team), Patrick Willis and Joe Staley( swinging door left tackle, should be second string by the end of the season), Kentwan Balmer( no longer with team), as a side note they took Chilo Rachal (mediocre RG) over Desean Jackson WR in the second round, 2009- Michael Crabtree ( hasn't played one preseason game, will he ever heal?), 2010- Anthony Davis and Mike Iupati ( too early to make a judgement), we do know that second round pick Taylor Mays has been traded away, but management won't say what they got for him, Aldon Smith DE converted to OLB ( he will always be a pass rusher, so far he has shown he can't cover TE's).

Although Baalke was not officially promoted to GM till after the 2010 season he was in charge of last years draft, even if it was previously drawn up by Scott McCloughan.

Will the 2011 draft be a sign of mismanagement to come, his decision to take Aldon Smith when everyone knew the 49ers were in much more desperate need to do two things. #1 strengthen the secondary and #2 They knew Center Eric Heitman would not return due to injury and that their new Center David Baas would enter free agency of which they never made an attempt to keep him. So they were caught with their pants down at Center.

In the last six drafts the 49ers can say they have only made 2 sure picks in the 1st rounds, Vernon Davis and Patrick Willis. Anthony Davis, Mike Iupati, and Aldon Smith will all be given a couple of years to prove themselves, as for Michael Crabtree if he can't manage to keep himself healthy and show up for training camp next year then he may go down as one of Baalkes Busts.

It was a tough game, but certainly not against a fluff team.

Jed York looked like he was 10 years old! With my team being the Raiders, we've got owners on both sides of the age spectrum. Yikes.

York is naive, Davis is senile. York is a newly wed, Davis has been married for probably 60+ years. York was given a NFL team out of birthright, Davis fought and clawed his way into ownership of a AFL/NFL team. One thing they both have in common is the need for a new stadium, two of the oldest stadiums in the NFL.

Preseason is just a mirage. Teams play vanilla schemes and limit the first team players to only a few series. The regular season exposes all the pretenders.

I'm looking forward too the opening game 49ers vs Seattle. Harbaugh vs Carroll. I think between the 2 of them they have less than a 1/2 a dozen TD's so far in preseason. SF has Zero passing TD's. SF needs to have Alex Smith play the whole game in San Diego.

Alex Smiths QB rating against Houston was 2.8. I don't know if I've ever heard of a QB rating that low.

Oh, I'm sure Russell has that beat. I think one of his QB ratings was actually in the negative.
