NCAAF  > General NCAAF  > College Football Game Day - and so it begins again in 2011
August 30, 2011, 01:48 PM
Once upon a time, Saturday was college football game day throughout the Fall. With the advent of cable and now IP TV, college football is spread across each week of the regular season, and there are so many bowl games that Beef O'Brady's can sponsor one. Still, the spirit lives on within all true fans, and in keeping with that spirit, I present for another season the College Football Game Day boards. Whatever day of the week the teams are playing, you may post about it on the College Football Game Day boards.

Please, keep it to college football, humor, and the like. There are plenty of other boards and threads for unsportsmanlike posts. Rants, raves, and the usual expressions of fans caught up in the action are always welcome.

Hurry up Friday... The Thursday games look like they will stink on ice.

On the plus side a bad CFB game beats a good MLB baseball game on TV for me.

On the topic at hand, UNLV has played WISC tight before, so that game may be a lot closer than the spread.

A FN CFB regular (well, reappearing regular - think Sirens of Titan), Wild Bill has created a CFB pick 'em on Yahoo. Some folks invited to join have been having trouble getting their picks to stick, so to speak. Well, hedge your picks here. Post 'em on the weekly College Football Game Day board before the kick-offs, and let the games turn out as they may.

'Pit! Thanks for the initial posts!

TCU and Baylor are committing heresy by playing on Friday night in Texas.

Again, let me encourage you to post your picks on 'Pit's pick 'em board.

Thanks. And I do agree that its odd that two Texas programs are playing on Friday. As there are pretty much no good RI HS teams I am fairly happy about it, but its easy to see how TX residents might not be.

Might even be a recruiting blunder of a sort if some HS coaches get a bit ticked off...

It's September, and Van's in true form.

That's life! That's football!

I've been invited to spend the 3rd with my daughter and son-in-law (a master home brewer). The agenda? Pig roast, beer, and CFB!!!!

It's September 1, 2011. Most of us will be able to watch Wisconsin host UNLV tonight. Other games have regional coverage. CFB begins again.

For a half UNLV may be able to keep it from getting too ugly. That's about the best case scenario for fans of neither team watching it.
