Just Win Baby  > Just Win Baby! Message Board  > What do you think now of Pryor sitting for 5 games with the Miami mess?

The commissioner seemed like he over-reached his bounds (even though I am not an OSU fan) by whacking Terrell for the first 5 games of his pro career over ???issues??? that arose while he was in college. To most this seemed like Goodell was trying to appease those that ran his farm system, the folks over at NCAA. They had Terrell out for the first five games of OSU???s 2011 season (no coincidence, aye?) over the free tattoo mess.

Now that Miami has implicated some 80 plus former and current athletes that took to partying like guys at a bachelor party with a then multi-millionaire ??? is Goodell going to penalize them for past indiscretions? What is that old expression that my grandfather used to use....???what is good for the goose is good for the gander??????..?

What do you guys think ??? slippery slope here with Terrell (as he is now a Raider we have to root for him) versus anyone else that screws up in the NCAA?

Goodell has definitely set a precedent upholding the suspension. I think we're going to see more of this in the future - he'd appear to be a hypocrite otherwise.

I seriously doubt Goodell will do anything. Pryor should have appealed his own suspension. Why he didn't... maybe that was a back room deal to allow him to be in the supplemental draft? Oh, and Jim Tressel has employment with the Colts. Think Goody does anything about that? This commish may have saved the day with the CBA deal, but his administrative decisions in these matters leaves MUCH to be desired.

Looks like Tressel won't be allowed to assume his duties until week 7. As it should be.

Although, I also read that Pryor was going to appeal the suspension. I hope he wins because if the line doesn't block better, having only two QBs active on the roster makes me really nervous.

Smoke and mirrors plus "No Fun League" politics...it's all about the $$$$.....

I too caught the story of Edwards getting whacked and Lechler being our third stringer QB (of course the article was here on FN, so who knows how legit that is) - until Pryor gets back. Hope we can stay healthy with that O line for a while.....

Cutting Edwards was an odd move. He outplayed Boller, I thought. Boller and Hue are buddies though, so I guess that's how the Jackson era is going to roll.

I thought he did too. But I guess Hue didn't...

And Crazyalzado - I'm with ya. We need to hope the line holds up.

QUOTE(#8):

The NFL is being very hypocritical in this instance. The Pryor situation is the exact reason the Supplemental draft is in place, yet they kept making him jump through hoops to get in. If they were going to impose a suspension, why did they let him enter the draft in the first place?

It may be that the suspension was the condition for allowing him to enter the supp draft.

Pryor is going to be better than Newton... ; D
