Doubt that Pitt and Cuse hoopsters are gonna happy about switching conference BBall tournament from Madison Squae Garden to whatever God-forsaken place the ACC tournament is held.
What Norka said ... plus ... add institutional fit to the list.

I think they are in ATL. But will Madison Sq Garden still want the Big East Tournament?? I doubt many Baylor fans will make that trek.

Perhaps, but maybe their football players will enjoy playing in a conference that isn't a national joke.

FSU played a tough game, EWO! They should do better this year than last.
As for Pitt and 'cuse CFB teams ... if they do wind up in a tougher conference, they may not like like struggling against more good teams. Both of those teams have not exactly dazzled anyone with their football performances in the last several years.

I think what the conferences are doing right now is more defensive than anything. They can't fall behind their competition. If one expands, they all will. The last one to expand gets the slim pickins.
If the TX and OK teams get away from the PAC, the next option will be WAC and MWC teams with significantly smaller stadiums, or stand pat at 12. Neither option would hold a competitive position with an expanding ACC, B1G or SEC.

Yah, its like the start of WWI. Everyone is so defensive that offensive war breaks out...
The folks at NCAA HQ may need to look for real work pretty soon.

I posted this on a group thread. 4 24-team SuperMega ConferencesEach with 12-team Conferences6-team divisions each.Divisional playoffsConference championships4-team 3-game playoff to determine NCAA Champion of the Universe.
Concerns there would be even more regional identity compromised than with 16 per conference. Otherwise, it works for me Tnerb, but I'm afraid critics will call it a thinly disguised way to have a 16-team playoff. Also, what happens to the other 24 FBS schools?

What if all 120 went Independent?
The sun would still shine, the tides would still go in and out. TAMU might get female cheerleaders though.

That'd be interesting.

The sun will rise in the west first.

It already does. What y'all east coasters see is just our reflected brilliance.
Thanks to the few that actually posted something worth reading that related to the topic.
