These were all QB's that were under Coach Carroll. Barkley was POed that Carroll left him stranded with Kiffin. I wonder if Carroll had the #1 pick if he would take Barkley. All indications are that he hasn't been very loyal to USC players in the draft. If Carrol and Seattle were really serious about winning this season they would have gone all out to scoop up Leinart, or Palmer. Carroll who heaped praise upon Taylor Mays skipped on him in the draft.
It's not truly a fair comparison. Even in a pro-style offense like Carroll's the college game and the pro game aren't the same.
Why single out USC? Why not fault Texas for Vince Young, or Florida for Danny Wuerful and Tim Tebow? Heck, even my beloved Stanford Cardinal has a Steve Stenstrom for every John Elway and Jim Plunkett out there. Bottom line, I don't think USC should get a bad name for having great college quarterbacks who don't quite play as well in the pros. At this point no one can say whether Barkley will make a great pro or not, any more than they can say Andrew Luck will. Both are hyped pretty heavily, and both play the college game very well. But what do scouts and pundits really know? After all, they hyped Ryan Leaf and pretty much whiffed on Tom Brady.
Tim Tebow is only in his second season and hasn't been given the chance to start at QB.

You know why all the parents in Denver buy their kids Tebow jerseys? I hear it is because they all wish they'd had an abortion, and it is their way of saying; see this creepy spoiled little kid I was forced to keep.

USC is currently on suspension and deserves the punishment and bad name that is currently hanging over the school, something long overdue the University of Spoiled Children. Why did I bring up USC ? Well they have turned out 2 highly touted QB flops and one of their QB's Cassel ( who was a one hit wonder in New England when Brady went down) never started a game in college yet was drafted, and now they have a 3rd in a row. The only explanation I can think of why the rash of USC QB's, Mel Kipper must have gone to USC. Although i think Luck is a fairly good QB I would hate to see what might happen to him if he were to be drafted by Seattle, KC, Miami, Jacksonville.I think the team that will eventually get Luck will be Indianapolis.
QUOTE(#6):
You don't sound like a fan of Tim Tebow.
You know I could have cared less about Tebow a few years ago, but my opinion of him really went south when he did that antiabortion commercial with his mom, and his congregation of far right religious fanatics. Then to have him drafted in the 1st round. I think he would have gone in the 3rd round if there wasn't all that hype around him. I do appreciate that he is a great marketing tool. Like I said he would be more valuable to Miami than Denver, I don't see why he couldn't succeed if given a chance. Maybe that will be part of the myth about Tim Tebow, we all know he can walk on water, the reason why it hasn't been proven otherwise is because no one has asked him to.

And Matt Barkley hasn't even been drafted yet. What's the difference?

What does any of that have to do with his ability to play QB in the NFL. Maybe you prefer dog killers like Michael Vick.

Narry this threads premise is rediculous... when u produce that many NFL QB's how the hell is that giving the school a bad name. Quite the opposite actually. WERE you bored and drinking gin fizzies again??? he he
No I just had to rub a little salt in the wound after USC got spanked by Arizona St. I know that Cal, Stanford, UCLA have produced QB's that have won Super Bowls. Not sure if any other Pac-8,10, or 12 schools have?

Gee Sgt Friday- don't trip over that dead body. Did I say it affected his ability to throw a football? No! Has he been a total bust as a 1st rounder for Denver? Not as long as the people that think of him as the second coming keep buying his jersey's.
As far as me being a Vick fan, never was, never will, he's a great athlete, throws a pretty pass, but has a propensity to screw things up. Was what Vick did worse than what got Pete Rose banished from MLB. I think so. Yet Vick got a generous second chance in life.

It is giving their school a bad name because they are a bunch of over hyped, spoiled underachievers.
