NFL  > Chicago Bears  > The Lions are roaring, are the Bears listening?
October 3, 2011, 04:18 PM
The Lions are making alot of noise and winning games (4-0) this season. Only a Lion fan could have hoped for such a start before the season started. With two big comebacks of over 20 points in the last two games the Lions have built up their confidence to a monumental level. Deservedly so too!

With the "Monday Night Football" game on the 10th of Oct. against the Bears in Detroit, it looks to Lions fans that they are about to get some deserved revenge and publicity. But will they? This "is" the "Black and Blue division" (Named that because of the bruises they put on teams!!!) where any team can rise up to beat another division member at any time. And the Bears aren't going to be a pushover no matter how inflated the ego's/spirits/pride of the Lions and their fans. So the question Lions fans are asking is do the Bears even have a chance?

Watch yourselves Lions players and fans, in my mind you are all set up for a huge upset, that really shouldn't be an upset at all. The Bears easily have the Best Defense and special teams of any team you have played so far and the Bears have only lost to two of the best teams in the NFL. Add in that we played our "WAKE UP our offense", game this week and the Lions should be in for their first loss of the season. Think so or not?, comments are more than welcome from all. But as I see it, Chicago 31, Detroit 17!!! GO BEARS!!!

I'm not going to celebrate because we beat a winless Carolina team and while I'm hopeful of beating Detroit, I think winning by 14 points will be difficult considering our weak OL and their powerful DL. Maybe I should be smoking some of that stuff that you do.

31-17? That seems like a lopsided score considering we are 4-0 and the Bears are 2-2 and coming off a win against doormat Carolina. I won't predict a score but I am cautiously optimistic that the Lions will win.

Whose comment was it? What did they say? Sorry but I don't smoke ANYTHING!!!

My score estimate is based on the Lions Lbs, DBs and OL or lack there of. I think the Bears speed at Wr will kill the Lions. I think our D will dominate their OL. Plus I think our special teams will dominate the Lions'. I also think the Bears Ol which showed improvement against the Panthers will continue to improve and give Cutler time enough to pass. The Bears won't be able to have an inside power running game, but traps inside and running the ball outside are distinct possibilities.

What can the Lions do against Chicago's defense other than pass it to Calvin Johnson? That's why I gave them 17 points, but a team needs more than just one player to win in the NFL. That's if their OL gives them the chance to pass it! Remember too that once the Bears put Tillman on Johnson last year we contained him alot better. For the past THREE years the Lions have needed to improve their OL, LBs, and DBs, and have done very little. Our DL might not give you the time to pass it at all!!! And you surely aren't going to be able to run it on us. So how else are you going to score? Watch out Detroit, you aren't playing the 3rd world NFL teams this week!!! GO BEARS!!!

I'm a little less optimistic on the Bears chances against the Lions on their turf, I will say I hope it's a good game and both teams to come away injury free and the refs call a clean game and leave it at that.

The Lions are 4-0 and the Bears are 2-2. If Chicago wins they will only be one game out of first place providing the Packers lose to Atlanta.

I'm hoping the Bears win and we beat Atlanta because then we would have first place all to ourselves. We would also be the only unbeaten team in the NFL.

EZ, the game is being played in Detroit and the Lions are 4-0. How do the Bears have the upper hand?

The Lions have shown some spunk, with two come from behind victories, granted the Cowboys made some awful mistakes, but my hats off to the Lions, what a season so far. I don't want to throw a bucket of ice water on the fire but I think the Broncos were 6 and 0 a few years back and wound up with a losing record. Still, I would like to see a Thanksgiving day game that meant something. If the Lions and Packers keep on track it could be one heck of a game!!

The Lions got help in both games coming from behind...Lets just hope Cutler does not help them out, and we will be in the game.

The Lions appear to be making the most of their opportunities late in the game, this is the sign of a team that's finding ways to win, the sign of a winning organization. I think their year is next year and I'm sure the Lions will have more trouble winning games this way as teams collect more and more film on them. If the Bears keep their mistakes to a minimum when they play the Lions, along with the Packers on Thanksgiving Day, then I see victories for both the Bears and Packers.
