It took so long for Rodgers because he had to sit behind Favre for three seasons.
true success for the greats is measured in rings and rodgers will have more rings than favre when all is done. and rodgers is just plain better too. poor favre.... did you see his broadcasting skills in the ole miss game? he looked terrified and sounded like it.

Favre always blamed his receivers for running the wrong route almost everytime he threw an INT. The man could never admit that he was responsible.
Favre continues to destroy any good will Packers fans still have toward him. He was a great QB but always wanted the coaching staff to treat him special. I think Brett should just keep his mouth shut and ride quietly into the sunset on his tractor.
Say what you want about Favre I know I have and grew tired of Favre watch but the guy will be a first round Hall Of Fame ballot IMO. While he did throw some untimely picks during his career would there be any other Q.B. you would have rather seen playing on your team if your down by a score in the fourth with under 2:00 to go and you certainly can't question his durability over the years, he solidified the Packers Q.B. position for 16 years. I'm not a fan of Favre's but can acknowledge and credit the him where credit is due.
I read the article and it sounded like a compliment to Mr. Rogers talent that he had not won a SB sooner. This day and age nobody can say anything anymore about any subject without critics.
FTR- I cannot stand BF the person.

that's the way I took it, because quite honestly, Rodgers DID fall into a good situation. The Packers had just been to the NFC Championship game and were in OT in that game. That close to going to the SB. I took it more as Brett saying, Rodgers is too good to have to wait three years for his title. I just chalk it up to country Brett putting his foot in his mouth and not realizing that what he said could be taken in the wrong context.

Agreed. I didn't see anything untrue about what he said. Rodgers did sit, watch and learn. He did have a very talented team when he got a chance to start. Favre complimented him with his comments as to his surprise that he didn't get to the SB sooner because of his talent as well as the talent of the players around him.
Perception is 9/10 of reality, unfortunately.
QUOTE(#9):
Favre was poison to the Bears during his career at Green Bay. I believe he had more wins against Chicago than any other team.
At one time he was 22-4
I myself like Favre. His gunslinger mentality and all.........He made the game exciting. With that being said, I didn't care much for his retiring/unretiring thing, but most people hate to think that they're no longer able to do something they like doing. He is no different.
The talking heads can make things sound much worse than the intention, so I take commentaries, interviews, etc, with a grain of salt. Most of the crap being spewed about Romo is just that....crap.

Agreed, in fact with the retiring/unretiring, will i play/ won't i play stuff...i think most of that was the media, i remember thinking when i heard the media complain about it, "well, YOU are the ones that bring it up" most the time Brett doesn't actually say anything, so they read into the silence, which is kind of irritating...

It's a shame most of the media has turned into sensational journalism (National Inquirer, etc) just to sell stories, even if most are half truths. But, people eat up the drama crap that spews forth from these people.
That's why I don't believe most of what I hear and half of what I see.
