MLB  > General MLB  > CUBS vs. PADRES
October 6, 2011, 12:26 AM
After tonight's pathetic pitching display by the Brewers (YIKES!), I must confess I have a sneaking suspicion that the CREW will fall victim to the Cubs curse of '85 or '86. That year, the Cubs went up 2-0 on the Padres only to lose the next 3 straight games. This series has every indication of the same result. When you get too up on yourself, things have a way of biting you in the @zz, and the Brewers will have to live with the complete embarrassment that the Cubs did in the next 2 days. UNLESS they wake up, get solid pitching, and become more patient at the plate than they are now. I'm not sold that they can change their bad habits. Hope I'm wrong.

I still think Milwaukee will win this series. We all know how dominant the Brewers are at home, and with Gallardo starting, it's hard to see the D-Backs stealing a win.On the other hand, I do believe the Phillies are toast. Sounds weird, since Halladay is going for Philadelphia. But I just have this sneaking suspicion... or maybe it's just hope.I truly hate the Phillies.

DITTO! The Brewers got swept at home prior to the division series (forget who), so I'm not so sure about that.
