NFL  > General NFL  > Palmer is a Raider, smart move

Not like the Raiders had a lot of choices out there.

Maybe Carson has something left in the tank, he is young enough to still will some games.

and

The Bengals end up winners also with the picks (they just need to use them correctly).

1st round pick and a conditional 1st round as well.............If the Raiders can protect Palmer, he should be somewhat successful.........

i agree, i like this deal. Raiders get a pretty good QB to help run that offense and a rebuilding Bengals get high draft picks...

I'm not sure how I feel about this trade. It is true there were not a lot of options out there and Boller is not the answer to keep the momentum going throughout the rest of the season. I just hope Palmer is worth it because the Raiders paid a pretty steep price for him.

Ha! What the hell happened to that guy? I was really rooting for him to succeed, but it's almost like he's regressed :-(

Yes they did pay a steep price

but

when you have a history of wasting draft picks what difference does it make in the long run, at least they know what Carson can do, and he probably does not have a 'drank' problem like one overpaid 1st overall draft pick of a nightmare the Raiders just went through.

Maybe Ocho needs to spend less time tweating and act more like a football player?

There's the old Hammered - it was only a matter of time before the digs came out :-)

doesn't seem like he's grasped the Pats system. maybe he just can't shake the Bengal in him.

The Raiders are stuck between a rock and a hard place. They had to do something. They are now winning, and Palmer was a former first round draft choice, and Hue Jackson drafted him out of high school, so it's not like the coach is getting someone he don't know (according to a talking head on NFL Network)

If Palmer can keep the winning going, regardless of making the playoffs, then I would say it was worth it. Beats the alternative from the past several years, does it not?

Yes - it definitely defeats the alternative!
