cut him.. It doesn't make any sense getting rid of sproles who basically carried the team in some games...I am sure some teams will take some chances, but I hope he doesn't come here to denver or he might be on IR in one week:)

I think San Diego is like Denver, moving to a passing offense, so I don't see this too much of an impact on the team. LT had a terrible year and the team did ok without him. The mistake was not getting rid of him or trading him earlier, getting some good picks, and keeping Turner and Sproles... That would be a nasty 1 - 2 tandem.

It would be a mistake to keep him and not work something out with sproles... He killed us in Denver, along with a few others late in the season. The mistake was not trading him last season and keeping turner and sproles, which would probably put SD in playoff contention next season... SD is moving to a similar offense like Denver... Passing... SD is going to blow a huge amount of money on Phillip "Cry Me A" Rivers contract, so they better stick with the passing...So I think SD will be ok, especially in the AFC west..They should be more worried about sproles and jackson, who are free agents very quickly, sproles already a free agent. Don't waste money on LT.. Watch now he will come to denver and plague us!

Any team in the league would want to have him. The guy was hurt most of the season and still put up 1,110 yds hes only 29 so he still has a few good year's left. My guess is they keep both of them. Nice 1-2 punch if you ask me.

Tomlinson was hurt for a good part of the season and still managed to put up 1,110 yds. Sproles only put up 330yds so do the math. LT is only 29 and stil has a few good years in him. Iwould keep both of them. LT is a big part of san Diego's success over the last few years.

AJ Smith will dump him coldly. That man will single handily destroy any hope the Chargers have a winning because of his own pride. I HATE to say this, but maybe Manning was right.

GET OUT PHILLIP, WHILE YOU CAN!

AJ has made a lot of intelligent GM decisions in the last 5 years but here in San Diego...we are so used to trading away hall of Famers and future hall of famers and then watching them kick tail the year after theyre gone. Give LT another season, if he starts out the 2010 season like this one its a no-brainer. but if he comes back next season with 20 rushing touchdowns and 1400 yrds he better damn well be wearing a bolt on his helmet. OR AJ the business savvy might become AJ the unemployed.

AJ Smith has made some smart decisions over the last 5 years...most of them pay off in spades. example? Merriman and kaeding and Philip Rivers for the other manning(not peyton)? Ill take that deal despite brother eli's ring(fluke)!!!! LT has been hurt partly because hes had more carries over the past 8 seasons than almost anyone in the league ever!! and partly because he's getting to that age where a running back that gets that type of load could start to crumble..Give him one more season AND MAKE SURE SPROLES GETS SIGNED!! look for D-lineman a right tackle and a GOOD saftey. IF LT gets 15-20 TDs and 1400 rushing yards(we throw the football now baby!) and can stay healthy all year... we could hang on to him for two more years...if he's battling an injury in week 8 or doesn't score two TDs in every playoff game we play next year, cut him. we already passed the "lets trade LT and get something worthwile for him" line.

Ill tell you this much, if LT rushes for 1300 yards and scores 18 TDs he better damn-well be wearing the BOLT on his Dome-Cap...Or AJ the business-savvy might be AJ the unemployed. But remember, thats what San Diego does!!!! Send hall of famers packing to watch them have good-to-extrodinary seasons the following year. To go to the next level you need 2 excellent rb, San Diego can now pass and run. Maybe they can now learn how to tackle. Their pass rush and DB were terrible. Fix that . Pay LT.

Any student of body language could tell LT was like a caged animal on the sideline. Give LT the off season to rehab and he will be back next year with a vengeance running like a man possessed.

The chargers have tons of talent, but the coaching staff has no clue how to use that talent!!!!!!!! No one player is a team!!! If the coaching staff isn???t able to overcome the loss of one player (Shawn Merriman , LT ) the coaching staff needs to be replaced. The chargers should clean house at the coaching level and above. The team owners should hire a decent GM and Coaching staff then staff then stay the F*** out of the way and let them do what they were hired to do. Take the Chargers to the Big Show.

i think sproles is too good to be a back up, same with LT, i say wait a while see if he gets better, if he does well, trade him for a top prospect. In my view trade him either way, just keep him for a while longer so he heals and the Chargers can get someone better in the trade

Ok first of all all of you have to realize that sproles is good but he cant have 300 carries every season. They have to restructure LTs contract he has to get 20 carries a game and sproles 10. LT doesnt have to get so much of a paycheck but he should have perks like if he gets 10 touchdowns he gets a bonus and 1000 yards another bonus.

OK sproles is good but he cant get 300 carries a season (or didnt you realize he only got 15 yards vs pitt, they are a good team but others can do better) Restructure LTs contract to pay him less but he gets good bonuses like getting a bonus if he gets 10 touchdowns or 1000 yards. LT has to get 20 carries a game and sproles 10. They need to get a right tackle in the draft, and move clary to a right guard. They have to fire NORV TURNER he sucks, the only reason he got to the playoffs is that that division is really bad. AJ is a good gm he has made great decisions, BUSTer davis is his only flaw in a lot of years he got kaeding rivers and merriman instead of eli manning. The problem is NORV.

One last thing BUSTer davis can still prove us wrong recievers have to get their good sseason is in their 3rd season like vincent jackson

thats right... so get rid of LT, save money, invest more in your younger players... Draft Beanie Wells... 8.8 is just too much for a 30yr Old RB... I have no idea how good the Charges O line is, but invest that money into your line.

Tell you what. The Saints can give SD Reggie Bush and take LT off their hands. See who comes out on top of that deal.
