Preach on! A 16 team playoff. Winners of the 11 conferences (or 10 if you don't want to throw a bone to the Sun Belt) and 5 at larges from a ranking pool. No argument from 6th best, because you should have won your conference. That would be 15 games, you could tie it into the bowls if you want. And would take 4 weeks, about the length of the current bowl season (2nd week in Dec to 2nd week in Jan).

Not a 16 team playoff....just 4. The top 4 teams in playoff format...1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3. Winner of those two plays for the NC, losers play for 3rd. It's that simple.

should have a playoff system,...too many questions at the end of the year as to who is really the best team...not who had the best schedule....or who were luck enough to not slipp up early on in the year....I want to know who is the BEST at the END of the season not a damn team that is picked before the season even starts like USC is this year i say they slip up agian anyways

I am all for a playoff. I would also like to see preseason polls BANNED! I used to get excited when the polls started coming out to see where my team is ranked, now it's to see what 4 or 5 teams the media will allow to compete for the championshiip. And the excitement is gone!
