Great choice for a head coach! Thanks Chip! Now Spag needs some good coordinators to help out. Then it's bye bye to a lot of older and/or underperforming players. Adios Leonard Little, La Roi Glover, James Hall, Cory Chavous, Tye Hill and maybe Fahkir and Pisa on defense. Adam Carriker (no sacks in 2008) and Chris Long need to take it up a notch next season. On offense, Pace may have one more good year. But, Incognito, Barron, Klopfenstein, Pittman, Leonard, Bennett, Hall, Greene, and both those undersized Centers are toast. Tory Holt may be on his way out too. Marc Bulger better earn some of those big bucks in 2009, and we'll be looking for a younger QB anyway. The draft should focus on three things; O-lineman, a big Center and a monster-man MLB. Then we can move Witherspoon to the outside and trade for some more secondary help. We're in good shape with Jackson, Darby, Avery and Burton and the kicking/punting combo ranks among the best in the league. Lastly, get rid of those da*n prissy gold colors and go back to the blue and yellow uniforms that got us to the Super Bowl in 1980 and 2000.

"we got him...we got a great coach...now what?"

...now Jason Garrett sobs quietly, knowing that his chances to leave Dallas are almost zero.

Seriously, a good hire. I can't imagine too many Rams fans or players aren't happy about this.

the coach isnt going to make up for the AWFUL players on the team. thats right, i said it, the talent on that team stinks to high heaven. wouldnt be suprised if they let everyone go and started anew from scratch

The Rams are a lock for the Super Bowl next season. Although, I think the Rams should look for a new, new head coach if he can't get it done next year.

He has ZERO experience as a head coach. He has a 50/50 shot at being decent, just like every other 1st time head coach. Don't show your sports ignorance by anointing a "never been" as a great coach.

Granted Spag has no head coaching experience. But the Rams seemed totally disinterested in Super Bowl coaches Brian Billick, Jim Fassel or Mike Shanahan. And, Haslett proved years of HC experience ain't necessarily a lock for winning games. The Rams are bereft of talent in many key positions, like the entire defense. And we've got an overpaid shell-shocked QB. But, the new coach does have Jackson, Darby, Avery, Burton, Atogwe and the best kicking/punting combo in the league with which to work. And, there's a chance he may be able to whip Carriker, Long, Witherspoon and a few others on the defense into shape. Player attitudes will change once Spag starts getting rid of a dozen plus deadwood players on the current roster. The ace in the hole is another year of drafting 2nd. Go Rams!
