NFL  > General NFL  > Was Willis McGahee hit legal last night?
January 19, 2009, 06:13 PM
I have been on the majority of sports sites and have seen statements like the subject line if it was a legal hit or not. Here is my take. The vast majority of the people that are making that comment and writing about it in their articles have not played the game higher than middle school. Players, and all associated with the game have agreed (from what i have seen) that the hit was clean. Clark lundged into him and tried to turn his head and throw his shoulder in first however both were moving so fast that it took a turn for the worst. Others are saying that he could have gone lower to avoid the helmet to helmet contact howerver that is not possible. McGahee was so low there was no room to go any lower. Had he done so he probably would have blown up the knee as it was in college. Bottom line is stop use the "was it Legal" frase because it is football. If they get anymore protection rules, it will be call wussball. What is everyone elses take.
P.S--Hope McGahee is well.
