NCAAF  > General NCAAF  > Preseason College Football?
January 20, 2009, 03:55 PM
With all the talk of an NCAA FBS football playoff, I wonder if the idea of preseason college football is far-fetched?

Reading the boards, many complain about powerhouses hosting the weaker and significantly less talented teams to pad their record and stats. When teams do this it not only wrecks havoc on effectively evaluating the teams, but it also keeps teams from scheduling strong non-conference opponents.

What if college football teams had a preseason (1 or 2 games) in which they played The Citadels of football and then scheduled in the regular season a competitive non-conference opponent in the place of the Citadels?

I don't want to see college football expand to 16 games before bowls (or playoffs), but perhaps a preseason might work.
