NFL  > Chicago Bears  > Week 10 Detroit Lions in Chicago
November 8, 2011, 06:58 PM
This is the key game of the season so far. It should determine who is in 2nd place in the NFC North. It has playoff considerations all over it.
Can anyone believe how the OL/Cutler and the rest of the offense are playing? How about the special teams and now the "weak" link on the team is the Defense!
I think the Bears will win this Sunday maybe even convincingly. This would be 4 wins in a row and the 2nd of my 7 wins in a row game prediction. For those who don't know, I predicted (before the Eagles game) that the Bears would win their next 7 games. GO BEARS!!!

I'm giving the BEARS an edge for home crowd, and they'll need it, Detroit's making noise and the BEARS need too silence it, in thier own house.

If Matt Forte can continue his stellar play, the Bears have an excellent chance of defeating the Lions. I believe Forte is the key to this game.

That plus they need to give Cutler a standing ovation when he enters the field, a little moral boost. Then the offensive line needs to prevent the Detroit defense from sacking Cutler.

Even though Matt Forte is the obvious MVP of the Bears, I think Cutler getting the ball to the WR's will be the key for the rest of our season. If Roy Williams and Earl Bennett can get it going we could really be hard to beat. I know it's taken too long, but Roy seems to FINALLY have started to be the player we have needed all along. If they can get just 5 to 10 catches a game defenses will have to guard them more in the short middle, which will only open up Johnny Knox and Devin Hester for the long ball. Look out world, the Bears have FINALLY discovered a passing game. lol. GO BEARS!!!

I say the above about the passing game because Detroit's Safety's are suspect at best. GO BEARS!!!

Jay Cutler isn't the key to the Bear's success. Matt Forte has carried the team on his back the past three games.

Lions don't have Jahvid Best who had 170 yards rushing on 17 carries. It is also at home so that will limit the false starts that the Bear had tons of last game.

I think Bears win by 2 scores.

The Bears might get lucky and win by a FG.

As I see it Drip Drop, Matt Forte puts us in the position to win the game. Where as Jay Cutler/the passing game puts us over the top. Everyone expects us to run and do so sucessfully. But the passing game is something that can take advantage of Defenses that have to account for Matt and thus win us the game. Most NFL defenses can stop either running or passing. However now with the improved OLine play they have to try to stop both. Which is usually a win win situation for an offense. Just my line of reasoning. GO BEARS!!!

Just for the fun of it by the way, keep an eye this game on two players who I think are quietly helping put us over the top so we can win. Chris Conte and Tyler Clutts. Neither are showing up on the highlights, but both are doing key jobs allowing other players to do their jobs and get the highlights. Conte stops big plays while Clutts is making huge blocks. Finally we have a Free Safety and a Fullback who can play!!! GO BEARS!!!

EZ, good luck with the Steelers and the Ravens in the next two weeks. I hope if the Bengals have two good games (Not necissarily both wins.) that they will get the respect that they deserve.

We must win, or I'm calling in sick for the rest of the year.

Oh to win at GB would be great EZ, but I think I and ever other Bear fan would hope that if we can only have one win against the Packers this season that it would be in the playoffs. lol I don't think we can really hope to do what they did to us in winning two in our house and then go on to win the Super Bowl, but it would be sooooo nice. GO BEARS!!!

Tidbit to think about, our Oline has improved, but no one is saying this about the wide nine defense the Lions play. We have played several games against it now with Det, Tampa, and Philly. (I'm not sure if the Vikings play it also.) However we now should be ready to handle it with all the other teams that play it. If it was a problem before, now we should be ready for it. I can see Matt having 100+yards rushing by halftime!!!

The best nickname for Tyler Clutz I've heard is Matt Forte's Tyler Clutch. Back in the 1990's when the Lions finally gave Barry Sanders a FB he had his best season ever. To me it looks like the same thing is happening with the year Matt Forte is having. Plus Clutz is getting alot of credit for helping the Bears Pass Offense in giving Jay some extra time. This is something that some of us old timers on here have been saying for a long time that the Bears needed a FullBack and not a converted TE.

I would love to see how Clutz would do in short yardage situations by letting him run the ball on those short 1yd 3rd and 4th down plays. A man as big and tough as him should make those short runs easy and spare some abuse for Matt and Barber. Remember he weighs 260+ lbs, and is bigger than most linebackers who would tire out quicky by having to stop him. Why not punish their LB's instead of our RB's? That would make Matt just that much more effective and healthier! GO BEARS!!!

The Bears don't matchup well with the Packers and I hope we don't have to play them if we make the playoffs.
